Splinterlands - My report of Brawl Battles in Fray 3
Today my post is about my participation in the brawl battles of the Splinterlands game, in which I fought on Fray 3 with Chaos Legion cards at Novice League level.
Battle 1
In this first battle we had Equalizer and Healed Out as rulesets, not knowing how many health points we were going to start in battle, my strategy was to use Antoid Platoon as a tank due to his Shield skill, and since he has armor, I used Scavo Hireling to try to keep my tank alive in battle. Since I could use a Gladius card, I understood that within my deck, Orella Abadon, was a good option for this battle, and having Sneak ability, I combined Tenyii Striker to help Orella Abadon apply Bloodlust and thus increase its attributes.
Full Battle
The strategy in the battle was well set up, but it didn't go as I was expecting, in the sense that Orella Abadon applied Bloodlust, and that didn't happen because the cards started with 7 health points, while my Sneak attack cards did 6 damage every round, and so it didn't give the opportunity to increase their powers, because it was always Tenyii Striker that ended up eliminating the card.
However I managed to win the battle, and that is the most important thing.
Battle 2
In this second battle we could only use Odd Mana cards in battle, and my strategy in this battle was to use Grum Flameblade as a tank combined with Scavo Hireling, and to prevent Scavo from being eliminated by Snipe, Sneak or Opportunity attacks, I tried to protect him in battle from suffering attacks in the first round, allowing him to use Repair on Grum Flameblade, and consequently take control of the battle.
Full BattleIn this battle the strategy applied has worked as planned, Grum Flameblade with Bloodlust combined with Scavo Hireling is a very interesting strategy, which allows Grum Flameblade to become an authentic war machine unable to be destroyed. It ends the battle with 10 attack strength, truly impressive!
Battle 3
Noxious Fumes rule set is almost mandatory to use Cleanse skill in battle, and for this I had River Nymph available.
I had several options available for tank cards, especially Magic attack cards, but fearing that the opponent might choose Ranged attack cards, Relenor Cleaver gave more security in battle for its armor.
Full BattleThe opponent chose the same Splinter and also used the Relenor Cleaver card with a different strategy, not protecting himself from Poison allowed me to win this battle.
Battle 4
For this battle there was the Target Practice rule set, so my strategy was for Wave Brood to be the target of the opponent's attacks. Meanwhile as a tank I had Relenor Cleaver who would suffer few attacks in the initial rounds and could apply Bloodlust and Scavo Hireling would help him stay alive.
To help Deeplurker would eliminate the opponent's low health cards.
Full BattleMy strategy was well put together, and appeared to be superior to the opponent's strategy. But Regal Peryton was about to ruin my plans, because it is a very difficult card to eliminate with Melee or Ranged attacks, and I have already lost several battles because of this card.
Despite a few misses I managed to win this battle.
Battle 5
It is difficult to define the best strategy in Brawl battles in order to prevent the Bloodlust of the Gladius cards by avoiding choosing cards with low Mana or trying to protect them.
When I was choosing the formation for the battle I saw that my opponent had more than 100.000 power in cards, which made me a little alert to choose my team.
But sometimes you have to take risks and take chances, and in this battle I took a chance using Hardy Stonefish that could go wrong. However the intention was to protect my best card in this battle, Flagulon Reine, from suffering attacks in the first round of high speed cards, and to help the rest of the rounds, Merdaali Guardian would try to keep Flagulon Reine in battle.
Full BattleAs expected the opponent had a strong team, and I practically only had one card to attack, but it was a Gladius card and that makes the battle different.
From the moment Flagulon Reine applies Bloodlust the battle changes completely, besides increasing his attributes, Merdaali Guardian restores his health points, and with that I manage to win this very risky battle.
Battle 6
To finish another battle with Equalizer and Close Ranged rulesets, and due to the little Mana available it was likely that the opponent would choose Ranged attack cards and slow down my speed, to attack first, common to happen in Ranqued battles.
So my strategy was to use Shield skill as a tank and bet on Ranged attack cards, not worrying about the speed of the cards because Soul Fiend, which in this set of rules is worth a lot, because it does not spend Mana and has its health points equal to the other cards, is like having one more card in relation to the opponent.
Full BattleWe both chose similar cards for the battle, with the opponent choosing a typical strategy, and with that, Soul Fiend made all the difference in this battle, allowing me to win the battle, even though I had the speed reduction.
I managed to win all my battles and help my Guild in the ranking, so that I could earn Merits points to increase my Gladius card collection.
Strategies don't always go as you plan, and sometimes you have to take risks, this time it went well in all battles and I'm glad for that.
