Prioritizing mental health comes with some repercussions.
When we talk about mental health the first thing we need to keep in mind is that we have to sacrifice a lot to reach the mental state we are looking for!
Many times you will find yourself struggling to hold yourself from involving in different events and situations that you would love to but are not good for your mental health. People will judge, talkback, argue, and ask for your reason to do so. Even if you give them your merry reasons, they will never gonna understand. You have to compromise, sacrifice, and, renounce to find the peace of mind we are looking for.
Prioritizing mental health is not easy at all but the journey is worth it.
I get questions/curiosity from many about how I managed to feel guilty, jealous, and frustrated about how I'm living. How could I live like this?
Well, leaving a lucrative career and choosing to be a freelancer was never easy for me. There were so many breaking points, I almost gave up, and felt like I took the wrong decision. I was looking for a peaceful mental state like crazy. And then I found it within myself. I set priority - what matters most.
You have to understand that you can't have everything at once. You will never have. So choose your path wisely. If you are looking for a peaceful mental state then know that you have to compromise so many things. Social pressure will always be there along with your inner competitive self. You can be a successful person as per social standards, you can be a social butterfly and still feel the happiest. But know that it's not always that easy. Most of the time, you may have to sacrifice, and let go of many things to feel the peace inside.
But all these are something that you can easily overlook. Because it's you that matters most!
Prioritizing mental health may seem like a continuous battle for your stand. You have to prove that it is for your own good in every step. But if you manage to establish your points, hold yourself back; you will probably find the perfect balance in your life.
