I have always been interested in dance and I wanted to somehow adapt it for shooting. Not to remove the dance (there are no problems with this), namely, to make it one of the means of expression. And it turned out to be difficult and stretched for years.

No matter how beautiful the dance is, it is very fast and exists more in our mind than at the moment of contemplation. And this does not fit well with a leisurely focus on sharpness, the selection of the angle, the evaluation of the composition. Here there is a place for compromise - the dance loses its speed, goes deeper into itself. And shooting a portrait begins to look like shooting a reportage - something is constantly happening in the frame and you need to have time to react.

But the main thing is a completely different feeling from shooting! It's a completely different rhythm and cascade of pictures that unfold on you. It's like being inside a movie.

Мне всегда был интересен танец и я хотел как-то приспособить его для съемки. Не снимать танец (с этим проблем нет), а именно сделать его одним из средств выразительности. И это оказалось непросто и растянулось на годы.

Как бы ни был красив танец - он очень быстр и больше существует у нас в уме, чем в момент созерцания. И это плохо вяжется с неторопливым наведением на резкость, подбором ракурса, оценкой композиции. Здесь возникает место для компромисса - танец теряет в своей скорости, углубляется в себя. А съемка портрета начинает походить на съемку репортажа - постоянно что-то происходит в кадре и нужно успевать реагировать.

Но главное - это совершенно другие ощущения от съемки! Это совершенно другой ритм и каскад картин, которые разворачиваются на тебя. Ты как будто оказываешься внутри кино
