A day with Oyster farm
Greetings and hello. Today I wanted to share with you a local breed oyster farm which located in Chanthaburi. Trip from Bangkok to here around 4 hour due to located outside area near to mountain and river. And mostly are run by family. Let me show you how it looks like there.
Uses bamboo as supporting shelf so that can hang those oyster babies. Then rope is use to tie them up floating in the air like you seen in pictures. A generator will works as wave maker to form little wave to push for these oyster as their main nutrition comes from water itself. River form from mountain as well. I order for a full grown size oyster they needed 8 - 12 months in order to archive the standard size of meat. Normally farmer will place a date on top of each oyster shelf for month monitoring.
When their time is up they will be collected, put on table to be clean with brush and open by little screwdriver to get the meat. Then the oyster meat will be soaked in water too preserve its freshness.
So I bought 2 kg of it (without water) for my family.
This is how it looks like. Any oyster lover here?
So what I did is Thai oyster with Chilli paste. A Thai local dish that well known. You can do oyster egg as well. Do you like oyster like I do?
