WorldPhotography: Snowy Landscape On PEI

WORLDPHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

ROUND #23

Theme this week is

SNOW LANDSCAPES OF THE WORLD

A winter’s morning on Prince Edward Island (PEI).

It’s always a pleasant day in wintertime when the sun decides to warm the landscape. He is awakening in splendid winter glory and casting long shadows on my snow covered backyard.

Unlike the snow and cold days of winter as shown in the following photos, today my little piece of the planet is enjoying wonderful warm summer weather. Some days almost too hot with temperatures at 30c +(86f). But for this post snow landscapes are required.

Winter weather is not always enjoyed by everyone because of the cold. I have always lived with and usually enjoyed the change of seasons except to wish winter wasn’t so long changing to springtime.

The sun is starting to show his face and his smile will later add sparkles to the snowy landscape.

A winter’s day with a clear blue sky. Not to be ignored, a tall spruce tree casts a shadow on the snow.

I have great memories of fun times when the old man of winter kept the ground covered in white fluffy snow.

I loved the winter sports, such as, ice skating, skiing, snowshoeing and tobogganing when I was younger. And always smile when I think of the wonderful memories with high school friends at the local rink with scratchy music blasting from a loudspeaker.

It was a time of teenage crushes and hopes that special someone would ask you for a skate.

The rink for ice skating in my hometown had a small building attached with a cozy wood stove to warm up in if you were out on the ice skating too long. But I digress and will close off and enjoy the present summer days. 😊

I have to keep reminding myself how I wished for this heat in the middle of winter, Hannes. 😆 ⛄️

Thanks for everything dear Hannes. I’m not sure how this day will unfold as lots of clouds in the sky this morning.

Keep cool my friend. 🤗 😎 and have a wonderful Frigg’s Day.

So true, Jo, in the Winter we moan because it's cold and in Summer we moan about the heat that we've been longing for only a few weeks ago 😉

We have had a hot day, but it's gonna rain soon and the weekend will be more wet than dry, says the weatherman - I wouldn't mind if he is right 😎

You have a wonderful Frigg's day too and a wonderful weekend, dear Jo 🤗🌞

All sports never encountered growing up, how different when one thinks about where we live, how many differences we experience through life. Would have loved to experience some of this including possibility of living all four seasons in another country where deep snow does fall.

Lovely photography as always!

It is interesting how we each live, Joan @joanstewart. Many people do not like the winter season and will go to Florida or somewhere more southerly to escape the cold. Others embrace it.

Thank so much for your lovely comment and the LUV. 😊

One or two years to obtain absolute feel in difference between seasons would be quite an experience.

Growing up inland we had frost, nothing compares to actual snow covering the ground which only happened once in my childhood for a day. Spring flowers were dazzling with fruit trees in our garden.

Now I pleasantly watch through photography the big changes you experience up North.
