Red Sky In The Morning

avatar
(Edited)

The sky looked pretty this morning with the red from the sunrise leaving a glow around the few clouds in the sky.

The saying goes,

”Red Sky in the morning, sailors take warning
Red Sky at night, sailors delight.”

A half hour later the heavens change with no sign of the red in the clouds.

A blue jay greets the morning from the top of a tall spruce tree.

Looks like those clouds were full of snow. Snow flakes started softly falling.

If you look closely there are fox or coyote tracks in the snow. I haven’t seen the animals for they must come by in the middle of the night. With the snow it is easy to see the different tracks and what animals are around.

Gorgeous snow, this is such a tranquil setting with footprints in the snow to make it intriguing.

Hi Joan. I should invest in an outside surveillance camera to see which four legged animal is coming by.
Thanks for everything and the token. 😊

Seems like you had a really nice day :) ... Maybe you could get some pictures of the wildlife, if they ever do decide to come around during the day🙏

I would like to get a picture of the creature coming around after nightfall. It used to be the raccoon or skunk visiting in the evening but these tracks are more dog like.

Thanks for stopping by and for the curation. 😊

I love these sunrise colours in Winter, especially when the ground is white. The pink and the blue are often so lovely pastel coloured.

Lovely images, Jo, I love the sunrise colours and the Blue Jay on the tree looks cool 😀

Hi Hannes. I hope you didn’t get the cold snap we had over the weekend. It was the coldest couple days ever caused by a polar vortex that sweep down from the Arctic. Thankfully temps are back to normal winter ones now. After seeing the horror of the effects of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria I shouldn’t complain about anything.

Thanks dear Hannes for your lovely comment and everything. The sunrise is colorful this time of year. 🌅

Have a wonderful Thor’s Day and keep warm. 🤗

Hi Jo,

we have had quite low temperatures at about -11 C inthe past days and it hasn't got much warmer yet, but it's winter and although I prefer it cozy and warm, I appreciate the cold too 😀

I agree, we shouldn't complain about anything - there are so many thousands of people who even haven't got a home anymore.

My Thor's Day has been busy, but that way it has gone fast 😉
Hope you're having a lovely day too 😊

I shiver just imagining how cold it is over there. But the view is magnificent. Glad I can enjoy it without enduring the freezing temp 😊

A Canadian winter would be hard to get used too if you never experienced one. Warm clothes and a love of outdoor winter sports would make it easier. If I had my druthers I would like a temp around 20-24 C.
