Investment: A Gift From Past You To Future You

That feeling of reaching down your jeans you wore last week and seeing money inside, or trying to search for a pen in your favorite Fanny pack and seeing money inside. That feeling of gratitude to your past self for forgetting that money there, it feels like a gift. When the human mind forgets they have a particular dollar bill or money, then rediscovers it somewhere, they feel extra rich or richer at that moment. In a way, that is how savings work for me, I put some money in savings and pretend like I don’t have it, then my brain learns it and actually forgets about it, then snap!! I find if and I am excited. It’s a psychological thing.

Lots of people talk about investments a lot, to the extent that sometimes investment sounds cliché, but no matter how cliché it sounds, it’s still one of the most financial important things to do in your life. Because, investment can save you from a lot of, and when I say a lot, I mean a lot of debts, bills and other troubles you will need money to get out from. Investment can also help give you the perfect lifestyle you deserve, especially when you have multiple investments. I have always understood the importance of investment because, my dad instilled the idea in my head since I was like 9 years, not only did he always talk about it, I saw it play a big role in our lives.

My dad was an employee, so he was on a really low government salary, but he managed to provide all the basic things we needed that were way above his pay grade, but no one ever believed him that his paycheck is way lower than his lifestyle. This is because, when he had the opportunity to have access to some really cool cash, instead of buying expensive things like cars, jewelries and living the flamboyant lifestyle, he decided to invest them. A decision he made in the past is helping us maintain a present lifestyle.

This has helped me through my financial journey in life, I am constantly feeling happy and great because of a decision my past self made by investing.
