Happy Thursday everyone, I hope you are well, full of joy; Today I feel very lucky to have found this great family of artisans since this week I have made many manual works for newborn girls and I longed to share in different communities. I am happy for the first time to share one of my creations with all of you and I can only wish that the Lord in his mercy keep this day that begins and overflows abundance in our lives, I am pleased to invite you to see a beautiful sewing idea made by hand.

Sewing by hand always means therapy for me, a way to distract myself and clear my mind of many things, so even if the seams are not perfect, I prefer to do it this way and not use a sewing machine... It helps me detail, what I have to improve and I'm also glad to see everything I've learned. Knowing this art is undoubtedly a great advantage when we are going to become mothers, because it is a great joy to be able to make clothes for our baby.

These days I have worked a lot helping my uncle to create clothes for his granddaughter who will be born soon with the favor of God, he is excited and his emotion infects me, that's why I put a lot of love on it this whole project. A diaper cover will always be an indispensable and necessary accessory in the life of any baby. They provide comfort and help support this absorbent garment, as well as keeping them fresh and are very appropriate, not only for being inside the house, but also for going anywhere.

Making this baby garment was a complete learning experience for me, since I had never made one before, especially since I don't really like creating underwear. I can remember that my daughter's were made by her grandmother, because the ones she tried to make all came out crooked haha... I found a simple and quick way to make them, which I would love to teach you so that you can provide extra protection for your little one. accompany me to the end of each step.

Although several types of fabric could be used for this garment, it is appropriate to use a somewhat absorbent fabric that will keep the baby dry. In this project I used a fabric that is soft but has little elasticity, it still looks great because it fits with an elastic band.

The good thing about this project is that we don't need a pattern as such, since we start by cutting a rectangle of fabric depending on the size of the girl or boy, in this case it is a newborn by what the measurements are very small (30 cm wide or 20 long) we fold this piece twice in half and make a diagonal cut as you will see in the first image. Unfold and cut a little more to shape the front piece.

Now we proceed to cut a 2 or 3cm wide strip for the same length as the waistband of the diaper cover. Then we make a ruffle of fabric by cutting a longer strip, with a lighter I seal the edges on one side and on the other side, I make stitches next to a lace, to crumple both appliqués. We sew this piece to the upper part of the accessory. I place on these lace the strip that we made previously and we make a strong seam, keeping the pleats of lace.

Continued with a hem in the leg area. Introduce a small rubber band, you can help with a hair clip or with the material that makes it easier for you. We give it the appropriate size of a baby's leg and close.

Finally we sew the sides together and make the armhole hem on the edges.

The result of this project was something I loved!!! It makes a perfect game with what I have been doing for girls before. For dresses this garment is special. I really loved it. I hope you like my work today.
