Top 3 skills to survive in a post apocalyptic world.
The weekend engagement topic for this week I chose to talk about is:
In an apocalyptic world in which society as we know it has completely broken down, (no power, running water, government, law, fuel etcetera) what would you say the three most important skills or things to have would be and why?
Hello Hive family!
When I chose this topic, I didn't hesitate for a second. Although the others are also very interesting to talk about, I have always enjoyed watching apocalyptic movies, series and playing apocalyptic games.
Sometimes I have even seen videos on YouTube, where they explained the reality of survival in an apocalyptic situation, such as in a zombie epidemic.
I found it super interesting when they talked about who would be the first people to die... or have a harder time surviving, because it concerns me directly. And they would be people who depend on something for their survival, like something as simple as wearing glasses! I wear glasses and contact lenses... what would happen when my glasses broke and were totally useless? How does someone who has not adequate vision survive?
The top first skill totally necessary for a post apocalyptic world would be in my opinion:
knowing how to cook
Seems obvious, but if you don't even know how to cook an egg, you may find ingredients but not knowing how to cook them to eat them and starve to death!
Second skill in the top 3 needed skills to survive would be:
Basic first aid knowledge
You should be able to at least be skilled at treating wounds, including being able to stitch them up if necessary or make a tourniquet.
And last, but not least..
Knowledge of flora and fauna
When supplies at suppermarkets ran out you will need to know what plants, seeds are good to eat, and not die poisoned! Also you gonna need to know how to hunt and how to butcher animals aswell to cook later (with your top 1 survivor skill: cooking! Haha)

Evidently you don't know how to cook, that within many dangers has disturbed you a lot 😄....
Ahhh!!! you are short-sighted...me too let's take care of the glasses 😄.
And hopefully there will be trees left after the catastrophe, otherwise we will have to eat a raw animal as i said in my post...😄
