A veces hay que dejarse sorprender, los mejores momentos son los que no se planifican, eso suelen decirme en reiteradas ocasiones y la verdad esa expresión comienza a tener mucho sentido para mí, pues la he sentido en mis criptoaventuras.

Sometimes you have to let yourself be surprised, the best moments are the ones that are not planned, that is what I am often told on repeated occasions and the truth is that this expression is beginning to make a lot of sense to me, because I have felt it in my crypto-adventures.

El pasado sábado mi familia y yo habíamos planificado salir temprano en la tarde, pero unas nubes negras en el horizonte trastocaron nuestros planes. No obstante, viendo que el tiempo transcurría y no llovía, como a las 6:00 pm decidimos acudir al Hato Grill para realizar algunas compras con HBD, lo cual se ha vuelto parte de nuestra cotidianidad.

Last Saturday my family and I had planned to go out early in the afternoon, but some dark clouds on the horizon disrupted our plans. However, seeing that time was passing and it was not raining, at about 6:00pm we decided to go to the Hato Grill to do some shopping with HBD, which has become part of our daily routine.

Allí estábamos mis padres, mi esposo, la pequeña Alma y yo comprando algunas cosas, pero a la vez en dicho establecimiento estaban observando el partido de la Copa América entre Venezuela y Ecuador en pantalla gigante, así que el ambiente era festivo y bullicioso. La algarabía se hacía sentir en todo el local, Alma se puso nerviosa con los gritos y lamentos del público, sobre todo, cuando Ecuador anotó el primer gol.

My parents, my husband, little Alma and I were there buying a few things, but at the same time in that establishment they were watching the Copa America match between Venezuela and Ecuador on a giant screen, so the atmosphere was festive and boisterous. The excitement was felt throughout the store, Alma got nervous with the screams and cries of the public, especially when Ecuador scored the first goal.

Una vez que pagamos nuestras compras con HBD y salimos del comercio, mi mamá me comentó que tenía antojo de un helado, debido a su accidente tenía mucho tiempo sin salir de casa a disfrutar una barquilla. En esa misma calle divisamos una heladería móvil, pues era un trailer que tenía por nombre Al Hadi.

Once we paid for our purchases with HBD and left the store, my mom told me that she was craving for an ice cream, due to her accident she had a long time without going out of the house to enjoy an ice cream. In that same street we spotted a mobile ice cream shop, as it was a trailer named Al Hadi.

La imagen de las enormes barquillas nos llamó la atención, a mi mamá le brillaron los ojos de la emoción. ¿Destino o casualidad? Es increíble, antes no nos habíamos dado cuenta de que entre esos negocios de comida rápida existía una heladería.

The image of the huge baskets caught our attention, my mom's eyes sparkled with excitement. Fate or coincidence? It's incredible, we hadn't realized before that among those fast food businesses there was an ice cream parlor.

Llegamos al lugar, el aroma de carne a la plancha se hacía sentir, alrededor habían sillas y mesas y en el centro un televisor que también ofrecía el partido de fútbol de la selección, estaba a punto de iniciar el segundo tiempo.

We arrived at the place, the aroma of grilled meat could be felt, around there were chairs and tables and in the center a TV set that was also showing the soccer match of the national team, the second half was about to start.

Tuve la misión de subir las escaleras para poder llegar a la nevera exhibidora de los sabores de helados y observar la variedad. El preferido de mis padres es ron con pasas, así que fue la primera opción, añadí pastelado, brownie y torta suiza. Las barquillas estaban cremosas, un gusto para el paladar.

I made it my mission to climb the stairs so I could get to the cooler displaying the ice cream flavors and observe the variety. My parents' favorite is rum raisin, so it was the first choice, I added cake, brownie and Swiss cake. The wafers were creamy, a treat for the palate.

La atención fue extraordinaria, los empleados fueron muy amables, hasta nos obsequiaron unos sabrosos caramelos. Lo que más me gustó de esta salida es que pudimos complacer a mi mamá, quien quedó satisfecha, se le notaba en la gran sonrisa que había en su rostro.

The service was extraordinary, the employees were very kind, they even gave us some tasty candies. What I liked most about this outing is that we were able to please my mom, who was satisfied, you could see it in the big smile on her face.

También pudimos compartir en familia el triunfo de Venezuela, mi papá estaba emocionado por esa remontada, en tanto, mi esposo tuvo que pasear a la pequeña Alma cuando se anotaron los dos goles para alejarla del escándalo, sin embargo, la alegría y celebración del momento fueron contagiosas y la beba regaló varias sonrisas.

We were also able to share the victory of Venezuela as a family, my dad was thrilled by the comeback, while my husband had to walk little Alma when the two goals were scored to keep her away from the scandal, however, the joy and celebration of the moment were contagious and the baby gave several smiles.

Tal como dije, estos valiosos momentos no planificados suelen permanecer entre los recuerdos como valiosos tesoros, así quedarán estos deliciosos helados con sabor a triunfo vinotinto.

As I said, these precious unplanned moments tend to remain among the memories as valuable treasures, so these delicious ice creams with the flavor of vinotinto triumph will remain.
