Diosas Paria y Araya (Esp/Ing)

Si bien el estado Sucre cuenta con una geografía absolutamente impresionante, su capital es privilegiada al estar llena de historia, cuna de próceres, literatos y hombres de ciencia. Conocer la historia tiene algún encanto y fascinación. Recuerdo cuando realicé una investigación sobre la Plaza Bolívar de la ciudad, me llamó la atención las esculturas que se encuentran en la fachada de lo que era el Palacio de Gobierno, descubrí que se trataba de las diosas Paria y Araya, lo curioso de esto es la escasa información que existe al respecto tanto en internet como en la cultura cumanesa.

Although the state of Sucre has an absolutely impressive geography, its capital is privileged to be full of history, cradle of heroes, writers and men of science. Knowing history has a certain charm and fascination. I remember when I conducted research on the Plaza Bolivar in the city, I was struck by the sculptures that are on the facade of what was the Government Palace, I discovered that they were the goddesses Paria and Araya, the curious thing about this is the little information that exists about it both on the internet and in the culture of Cuman.

Quizás el mayor atractivo de este estado se centra en sus dos penínsulas, las cuales son totalmente diferentes y se encuentran separadas por 85 kilómetros. Araya está ubicada al oeste, es un misterioso desierto, cuyo principal atractivo son sus inmensas salinas, consideradas un símbolo de riqueza de la zona. Paria, en cambio, se encuentra al este y es una selva tropical que cuenta con paisajes de gran belleza.

Perhaps the greatest attraction of this state is centered on its two peninsulas, totally different and separated by 85 kilometers. Araya, located to the west, is a mysterious desert, whose main attraction is its immense salt flats, considered a symbol of the wealth of the area. Paria, on the other hand, is located to the east and is a tropical jungle with landscapes of great beauty.

Otro aspecto de interés sobre la Península de Araya lo constituye lo que en el pasado fue una fortaleza, el famoso Castillo, de él solo quedan rutinas, sin embargo, son de gran valor arquitectónico. Por otra parte, recorrer Paria y no visitar la fábrica de Chocolates y el ecomuseo del cacao sería un despropósito, pues desperdiciaríamos la oportunidad de probar un excelente producto. Estos se encuentran en una zona de Chacaracual.

Another aspect of interest on the Araya Peninsula is what in the past was a fortress, the famous Castle, of which only routines remain, however, are of great architectural value. On the other hand, to visit Paria and not visit the chocolate factory and the ecomuseum of cocoa would be a mistake, because it would be a waste of an opportunity to taste an excellent product. These are located in an area of Chacaracual.

Dada la importancia de estas penínsulas, nacen las diosas que engalanan la estructura de lo que fue el Palacio de Gobierno, rindiendo honor a estas extensiones de tierra rodeadas por el mar.
