Salinan dari Salinan dari Salinan dari Salinan dari Weekly Socmed Challenge (3).jpg

Hello everyone, welcome back to Ramadhanight's Hive Blog on Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge Session. For this week challenge, we are challenged to share about a specific strategy about a card, and I chose a new reward cards with new ability, let's check it out !

Retaliate, A Scary Melee Specialization

image.png

For the melee battle, retaliate can be a scary to fight against. Becauser when hit with a melee attack, Units with Retaliate have a 50% chance of immediately attacking their attacker. Some of them even got the rage ability to makes their speed and damage even higher !

image.png

Demonshark is the perfect example of the monster with deadly retaliate ability, becuase he also got the rage ability to improved his damage and speed, plus stampede that give him the chance to hit the enemies next to the one he eliminated, and those stampede are applied even if he retaliate with 0 HP left !

Enfeeble, The Melee Nightmare and Anti Retaliate

image.png

If you are a new player or and old player that just returned after few month of missing the game, you might asking what is enfeeble ?

Enfeeble is an ability that work like a demoralize debuff, but only effect 1 target and will give efffect on each succesful attack. So for Each successful attack reduces the defender's melee attack by 1 point. But unlike demoralize that limited into just 1 point, enfeeble can reduce enemies attack into 1 (except for immune, and rage that can be 2 physical attack). This mean enfeeble can be very usefull on melee battle, as long as the monster land a succesfull attack.

Commander Slade has The Enfeeble!

image.png
Commander Slade is a new rare reward monster, he started with enfeeble and dodge ability, which help alot on melee battle, because he will reduce enemies attack, while evading some of their attack, especially if you had team mates that help with blind ability ! And on max level, those missed attack can turned into a counter attack with the backfire ability !

Commander Slade Pros and Cons

Commander Slade Pros:
#1. High speed, armor, and health, a solid tanker for physical battle;
#2. Enfeeble can reduce enemies damage and makes a deadly monster into undangerous one;
#3. Evade and Backfire ability can help evading and hurt back all physical enemies;
#4. You can get it for free with the glint !

Commander Slade Pros:
#1. High mana, hard to fit on low mana cap battle and took double damage with giant killer;
#2. Only able to attack from the front (no reach and any other ability to attack from the back);

Strategy for Commander Slade

You can watch my battle on the link below
https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_738dc3ac7cd09904131d78b4a0554344

I will also talk about it on the explanation below.

image.png
Here is the formation and ruleset of the game. There is melee only ruleset that only allow melee monster to fight, this mean commander slade can taking advantage of it's high armor, enfeeble and evade ability. 41 mana cap is enough mana cap for him to go on the battlefield. And to max out his evading ability, I also support him with blind ability from the squid. Last there is 3 assasin on my team, plus one demoralize debuff to reduce all melee monster damage by 1 points.

Now let's talk about how the battle goes !

image.png
At hte end of 1st round, both team are still complete, but some monsters are already hurted, and enemies uraeus getting posined ! Enemies tanker already got damage reduced even when his armor is on ! This enfeeble effect it like the cripple that can go through the armor, unlike the rage ability !

image.png
At the end of 2nd round, enemies uraeus already eliminated and saw them left with 5 monsters. Meanwhile, enemies demonshark already had his attack at 1 point thanks for the enfeeble ! Anyway, the commander slade is stay strong on the front position !

image.png
At the end of 3rd round, enemies backline already eliminated, just like my backline monster, it's 5 vs 4 position for my team ! You can see the demonshark damage improved into 2 after his rage is triggered !

image.png
At the end of 4th round, my enemies left with just 3 monsters after his tanker is eliminated ! My commander slade ? Still on the front ! Solid !

image.png
At the end of 5th round, enemies backline is eliminated and he just left with 2 monsters !

image.png
No at the end of 7nd round, it's left with just 1 monster for my enemies !

image.png
Of course it's a win for my team ! And commander slade still on the front !!

Dvder.png

Conclussion

Enfeeble can help against retaliate monster by reducing their attack, and commander slade are the one that have the enfeeble ability. Commander slade also supported with the evade ability and backfire plus high armor,speed, and health to makes him a great tanker on physical battle ! You can support his evade chance with blind ability from the team mates!
