Christmas Is A Holiday || My Entry for the Hive Learners Contest "W41E1"

As usual, I'm back here to greet you all in the featured contest held by our beloved Hive Learners community. This contest is very interesting for us to follow and it's a shame for us to miss because here we can discuss different themes in each edition. It doesn't feel like we have entered the 41st week in the first issue this week we will discuss one thing we like about Christmas. I myself don't know what it is Christmas. As far as I know Christmas is one of the big days for Christians. That's how little I know about Christmas.

I am a Muslim and I don't know anything about Christmas because in my neighborhood all Muslims are, therefore I only know Christmas is a big day for Christians, and even then I know from a television show that I watched when I was little. Usually just before Christmas there are many television shows that broadcast events about Christmas. There are various television shows that are broadcast, sometimes there are also congratulations for Christians who celebrate Christmas. Television shows that are often broadcast at Christmas are Christmas-themed films. The film that I remember the most was the film Home Alone, which was very often broadcast on television just before Christmas. The film tells of a child who is left alone at home by his parents just before Christmas. The most exciting part is when the child can fight criminals who want to rob his house alone without the help of other people. In my opinion, Dja is a very genius child.

In our country, Indonesia recognizes several religions, one of which is Christianity, therefore Christmas is a national holiday. Therefore all activities on that day are off. For some people, holidays are used to take a walk or just stay at home. I myself often stay at home on holidays because holidays are a time for me to relax at home from all activities.

I don't know what fun is on Christmas day because it's not a celebration for us Muslims. Christmas for me is as much a holiday as Sunday. What makes it different is that this is an additional day off besides Sunday so that it can add to my vacation time. Usually I forgive to relax at home.

Christmas usually occurs at the end of the year and near the new year. New Year is usually often celebrated with fireworks, usually these activities often occur in urban areas. And I sometimes go there to see the fireworks. For me, it's very interesting when we can see it in person and it's very exciting when we experience it with lots of people. Therefore, the new year is a fun moment with many people waiting for the fireworks.

Maybe my discussion is less pleasing to the theme on this occasion. But that's what little I know about Christmas. Because I don't celebrate it so I don't know about Christmas. It was a joyous celebration for Christians. And we just have to respect each other and respect every belief that someone has.
