The Role Of Censoring Online Contents.

I’ve been in this world for a while and I have come to conclusion that everyone wants to make money. I’ve seen cases where bloggers lie against people like celebrities and all or even go as far as saying the person is late so that we can subscribe to their channel or page. It’s not just that. So many people go online to post things that they are cool with but not appropriate for children and I won’t blame them.

If you ever meet a child, going online to watch things that are not meant for his age, who do you think is to be blamed?
I think the parents or guardian of the child. I was passing by a shop one day and I saw a child making a s*x position and even doing it exactly how it is done. Who knows where the child must have learned or maybe watch it?
Now, as a parent, it is your duty to make sure that you censor some contents when it comes to our children. This may look like you trying to interfere in their personal lives and they are kids so I don’t think they need that much privacy because everything still needs to be done for them to an extent.

This is not just about a child. As adults, we tend to behave based on what we saw online. Have you ever asked yourself why some people behave how they do? It’s because of what they see online and the lies they might have been told by their favorite celebrities. So if a child watches things that are inappropriate for his or her age, he will surely get affected.

How can we control the things that our kids consume

I’d give an example. My little brother has a phone but he’s just two years close to the legal age. Do you know what my dad does? He makes sure that my little brother makes use of a particular Gmail account that he created for him so that whatever he downloads, my dad will be able to see it. He said he doesn’t want him to use some social networks because he feels they are above his age and the things he may be seeing online may be tempting. I know that may not work a hundred percent but it is just a way of curbing the things that he may watch online.
About the platforms, they have no business was censoring those images, videos or whatsoever. Let’s be factual, have you not seen cases where some particular websites will ask you if you are up to the legal age before you can gain access to it? If I’m truly fifteen years old, do you think I will say the truth? I will definitely lie that I’m eighteen so I can watch that thing I want to watch.

That’s to show you that these platforms don’t care and they are doing it all for money because if they really do, they must have asked for a proof to be sure that the person has gotten to the legal age.

In my opinion, I feel parents should be the ones responsible for censoring the contents that are not appropriate for their kids. This is not just parents but guardians, teachers and any adult around a child.

I like your Dad's way of monitoring your brother. We will continue to do our best, in future they will appreciate what we have taught them, except those who have lost it upstairs 😅. Well done

Parental guidance is a must, especially for young kids. We need to do some censoring of what our children can access online.
