A Tribe Of Judah ~ A Movie I Learned A Lot From.

No matter how much you love to learn, entertainment will always be your reason for watching movies. There is no doubt that we learn from watching movies but the most important thing is to get entertained. This isn’t just about movies but shows too.

Also, some people usually spot out what they have learned from a movie. For examples, a movie director who watches a movie must be after the direction of the movie. He may want to know how the movie was directed maybe by a senior colleague so that he can do better, for actors, they may want to learn how to put in more emotions when watching their movies, for other audiences, we may just want to watch but on the long run, we learned something from the movie. Let me take it back to a movie I watched sometime ago and I learned what so many people didn’t even focus on.

A movie I learned from

There’s a movie which was released in December 2023. The title is “The Tribe Of Judah” produced by a veteran filmmaker here in Nigeria. If you haven’t seen this movie, you can check it out and I’m sure you’d enjoy it.
This movie is the story of a woman who gave birth to five different boys for five different fathers. Isn’t it crazy? A child, a father up to the fifth one. She had one issue or the other with the fathers of the children and they usually end up abandoning her. She was lucky to get married to the father of the third child but the man dies after two years due to a chronic ailment. That was how she continued to meet some men who weren’t really nice to her until she stopped at the fifth child and she began to take care of these children single-handedly or without the support of anyone.

The movie started when these children were fully grown. Yeah, it’s normal to quarrel with your siblings but it was all for love. Suddenly, the woman began to fall sick and it resulted into her being admitted for some days in the hospital. When they found out the source of her ailment, they realized she was having kidney problems and it’s possible for her to need a kidney transplant. Unfortunately, none of these boys is well to do but there are two of them who are really striving hard and taking care of the family so they all started looking for ways to get the money then an idea struck their mind which was to rob a company. That company was where the first child was working before he got fired.

On the long run, they went for the robbery but another gang of thieves invaded the place and it became a thug of war. They all began to fight for the money which resulted to some shootings and the first child lost his life. This is where my first lesson will come from. At last, they all had to run away from the town to another city entirely but making sure that they took the money they went for.

What have I learned?

I learned two things. I know no one wants to have five children for five different fathers but if you see anyone who’s in that condition, do not judge them. Some people are not lucky to be loved by their partners just as you are loved. It even takes more than enough heartbreak to have been with over five people in your life. It hurts so when you see people like that, show them some care and respect. That’s what they all need.

Secondly, a mother’s love is everything. Just look at how she trained those boys that they are united. If you weren’t told that they have different fathers, you wouldn’t know and that’s to show you how they all love themselves. That’s the power of a mother and it can never be ignored.

Those are the two things I learned from the movie and if the movie is played today again, I can bet with my full chest that I’d watch it without getting tired.
