Wednesday walk at the Victory park - 18 fotos
Sunny spring day helped me to kick myself outdoors and have a walk across the Victory Park. Of course, I did not forget to borrow the camera with me, as today is Wednesday!... and as you can guess, this post goes for #WednesdayWalk challenge by @tattoodjay. The fountain located at the park's central entrance was turned on last week. There are always a lot of people walking around it, especially children. Kids love to watch running water, and even try to catch it, it is their special fun! (adults love watching it too... but they already have seen thatso many times in their lives).
This time I witnessed there such a conversation: the girl asked her mother at what moment exactly she should make a wish. Nice!! and I didn’t know at all that this is a special fountain that grants wishes.
Also during the walk I encountered a wish-granting fairy! See what huge magic wand in her hands? But I must admit that her possibilities lie in a strictly limited field and concern only Soap Bubbles - she cannot fulfill other desires.
The bank of the canal is the warmest place, its spring sun warmed up first - and here the first flowers of the coltsfoot are already blooming.
A slightly melancholy picture - what remains after the end of the children's sailing regatta .... the paper gets wet, and the boats inevitably sink to the bottom. A sad ending, but how much fun can be had in the process!
A lot of shadows were hiding between the trees. I chose a winding path along a narrow canal, and for a good part of the walk I admired the spectacle of shadows and dead foliage - especially the leaves drowned in water. At this point, I wished I had taken my 150mm macro lens with me.
What is the colour of the water? Oh, its different!
During the wintertime a lot of folks miss the soft ground and mild green grass - so, many companies choose to rest right on the lawns.

A young Pigeons's apocalypse follower.
On the bridge I encountered a pair of pigeons that were willing to pose me perfectly... for some beautiful shadow photos and even more.

I'm very fond of pigeons, they mate for life you know. I once saw one sitting by the side of its dead mate who'd been run over on the tram track. Love the final photo!

this mating pair was very, very touchy. they even kissed each other! sadly -- I missed this exact moment, as camera's battery died right at that second. still, I made a few more frames after changing the battery... the teaser:
Aw, little darlings!
Twice I've given shelter to injured pigeons which eventually recovered and flew off. On a third occasion, a pigeon with an injured wing took refuge on my apartment balcony, and in return for food and shelter, left behind what must have been several tonnes of excrement. After I cleaned it all up, the damned thing returned with a mate, again attempting to take up residence. It took me weeks to persuade them to look for lodgings elsewhere.
Oh my. I smiled but it is no big fun, on another hand...
My daughter had a bit similar problem with our neighbours, that blamed her (for feedinb pigeons from our window) - this indeed had some impact, in terms of excrement fallout, all around especially on their windows, which did not make them happy. My babygirl was shocked 😨 cause, uh, she simply did not consider such consequences...

But how could you not know know there's a wish granting fountain? I see it in movies all the time.. ha, maybe, you are not a fan of movies.

yes... I am not a big fan of movies. but! I do know for sure that there exist some urban legends - and someday I promise I will make a special post telling a story about all the city's wish-granting monuments, this will be a funny reading... but I really didn't know that this fountain is in this list, !LOLZ 😀

I believe all fountains grant wishes.
oh... I could sit around that fountain for all day long, and even whole month, just to convince it to fulfill my desire - the death of Putin and the end of the war, and eventually some piece to Russia. but most likely it won't happen. Perhaps there are some limits, those wishes should be pretty small ... ehehe
