SPb streets. October photodump

(Edited)

A little photodump from my recent walks. The cats, folks and kids I shoot at the streets of St.Petersburg (mostly in the park).

2024-nov-1306w-h.jpg

Kitty brightened up my walk from the start.

2024-nov-1314w-h.jpg

Old ladies on the walk.

2024-nov-1322w-h.jpg

Enjoying the late autumn sunny warm days.

2024-nov-1327w-h.jpg
The park is full of swings of different formats and capacities.

2024-nov-1345w-h2.jpg

This type is called 'The Nest'.

2024-nov-1345w-h1.jpg

A lot of fun, not only for one kid, but for a company as well!

2024-nov-1329w-h1.jpg
A group of guys having fun while a girl patiently waiting (one of them). I've enough of black clothes in my life, and choose bright colors; I applaud her bright cornflower blue jacket!

2024-nov-1767w-h.jpg
"The king of a mountain".

2024-nov-1775w-h.jpg
And the last photo rounds out my blog. I made three captudes while standing at the crossroad, and the funny thing is that two of the photos look natural, and by the third one this girl noticed I was shooting her and made a "duck-lips" face. Made me smile.

If you visit SPb one day, it would be great, just choose a better season (ideally, from May to June, max. until September).
We will arrange a mini Hive meeting, I am more than sure @tatdt would join us for a stroll across the historical center of the city. And maybe I could play you some improvisational music on my khomus (jewish harp).

Sure! A stroll together - what could be more pleasant? But better in the warm season:)

Nice street photography @qwerrie. You like being a flaneur? Sometimes I like to enjoy the streets without any intention to do something. I think that girls awareness added more friendliness to the image.

I am extremely obsessed with living at metropolis and lurking thru the streets, capturing the scenes of street life. I am not unique in this hobby, obviously.
😎 Glad that you enjoyed the visuals. !BEER

Great street impressions. I am surprised to not see any snow yet, although it is October then still.

Ha, I already got some pictures with snow, including something one can consider as the 'first snow'. Tho I dont remember exactly - was it #2 or #2. The fallen snow already have melted, then dropped and melted again, and the cycle repeated itself, like, 4 times. Doesnt look inspiring, looked wet and... I didnt feel excitement about going out and making captures, to say the truth. Strange, but fact. (Thats why I prefer to share photo impressions from warm and sunny days full of golden foliage). 😉 Lets share cold !BEER

Nice pictures!

I agree that the world could use more colors, especially in the darker seasons.

I sure wear more bright colors, these days ( never liked black but I do like blue! ), even more so, since I got together with @clareartista , months ago ( who makes and has invested in fantastic clothing, over the years )

Navy blue and tobacco brown are my old pals, fave colours. 🤠 I'd !LUV to wear some light yellow-mustard jacket too, and a red-wine one.
Let me treat you with a Hive !PIZZA 🍕

Grazie! I had the evening light, soft and warm, for most of these. So they turned up pretty enjoyable right at a blank spot :P !BEER and !PIZZA back.

Ha! I loved the photos! A bit extreme that swing. 😁
Let me get a head start on this food thing.

Maybe it just looked this way, or the swindling by a happy father went a bit extreme, but the thing is very safe, nothing too extremal. My teenage babygirl love to swindle, and prefer exactly this 'Nest'-type one, when we come to park.

Greetings @qwerrie ,

What a lovely day-out....the light is perfect...is it not.

Thank you for describing the different swings.

Historically speaking, regarding the black colour dominanace in clothing...I was thinking on the same subject the other day. The query that came to mind: How could this trend have lasted this long? and others....something to think on!

Enjoyed your lovely post and photographs....thank you!

Kind Regards, Bleujay

I have read a few years ago several books by French medieval historian, Michelle Pasture, his 'The History of Color' cycle. The colours he investigated, were Red, Green, Blue and Black. This was fantastic reading, if you let me to recommend it to you and if only you have time you can invest in reading. Black color has a contradictory fate. The color of the primordial darkness, in the Middle Ages it migrated to the robes of monks, soon began to dominate the Protestant wardrobe, turned into a favorite color of lawyers and businessmen, in the romanticism era it became the sign of melancholy, and later - a marker of elegance and style ... and at the same time an indispensable attribute of mundane everyday life. But I am rather sick of it (tho I appreciate B-W Monochrome in photography).

Thank you @qwerrie ,

Always appreciate hearing of a good book....it sounds most interesting....thank you for the summary.

Colour is important in history...I had quite forgotten.

Thank you for your kind reply.

Kind Regards,

Bleujay
