Watching crows activities (10 photo)

This post goes for 'Show me a photo (of a bird)' contest, round #189. No week's topic was given, so I just share some recent photos of the crows I did the last week in the park. I came across several crows bathing their prey in water (wheat bread crumbs), and were so engrossed with it, they allowed me to get close... up to a certain limit, of course. The photos were taken with a 150mm telephoto lens. And most of them obviously require me to send them to the Shadows and Reflections community..

These were almost natural monochrome. I made a b-w conversion, but it did not changed the photos too much - just added more contrast.

...but before the nature changed its dress to monotonous monochrome wintertime coat - we have the joyful time with all the colours boisterity of Indian summer.

A very appetizing crumb! (Below is uncropped version of the image).

Another cropped close-up.

I was probably 2 meters away from the place where the food was being rinsed... but I couldn't get any closer - as soon as I crossed the invisible line, the crow cawed angrily and relocated...

Clever crows. 🙂 I saw them dipping crumbs of bread in water too. Crows will never stop to amaze me.
Thank you again for your lovely entry!

My big pleasure you liked the visuals. I care about the colours of pics a lot, while editing, although they might be a bit over-adjusted. Lets share !PIZZA to celebrate another SMAP round. Do you post your birding photos too?

Greetings @qwerrie ....thank you for your kind reply.

The colour is perfect....no worries.

Thank you for the pizza....celebration indeed!

Thank you for your kind query.

I wish...I have posted a heron before quite by accident... ^__^

Bleujay's photos are mostly still-lifes and of my Artwork....however I am always interested in Hive's birding photographs....having a look at the Community.

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

Oh yes there is a story there. ^__^

Since you have mentioned my account name...I will tell you a bit about it.

Mostly Bleujay's posts are the presentation of Principles, Timeless Truths...which to most people are a bit harsh....thus the Bleujay...idea was to communicate that yes they are harsh but also lovely ...that is, for our thinking.

Your photographs are lively with colour which is an important element in my work...they caught my eye straight away....thank you!

Great shots you caught there! The birds sure wanted those bread crumbs. The monochromes came out nicely. Enjoy that Indian summer while it lasts, winter is a coming pretty quickly!

I mistakenly thought that crows are only black in color. Turns out there are others too. 😀
