Ladies of Hive Community Contest #101 - Her Resilience is in her silence and patience
Hey guys... It's nice to have you read my post and trust me, I delight in it and it is a pleasure.
Ladies of hive contest is up again and I'm glad to be one among the other amazing writers. I encourage you to read patiently in an open mind to the end.
The topic of discussion is on the resilient woman, the challenges she faced and what she did to overcome the trial that she faced.
The woman I will be discussing today about is a co-worker. I call her Mrs. Pat. We became good friends over a period of time at a temporal place I decided to work for a while. She was outgoing, courageous, always smiling, a motivational speaker, intelligent, resilient, confident and strong.
I loved the characters she possessed and that's what got me close to her for a friendly association.
She was in her late thirties.
She had been barren for years after her marriage. Within this period, she had series of miscarriages... She was under pressure from her mother and her in-laws. Within, she'll sob and cry her eyes out in her loneliness... The husband was able to endure and defend her over the years. He bought her a car and ensured that she was living comfortable.
He decided to give deaf ears to every external pressure regarding the issue of childlessness. After 5 years, the husband could no longer bear it, the pressure was intense on him, pressure from family, friends and co-workers... People said a lot of things; some said he married a man, the others said she's lost her womb and most of them advised the man to kick her out and marry another woman, seeing he doesn't have the luxury of time to waste as he's getting older daily.
Most times he'll act like he's not hearing those words until the words sank into him and he began to exhibit and express deep hatred for the wife. His intention was to get her to leave the house by herself by making the home unbearable for her. Her husband was not working in the same city as she was and the nature of his work took him around the globe... He was well paid and well to do.
When ever he came back, she'll go to the airport to give him a lift but, immediately she arrives at the airport, he'll complain about everything, Including how bad she has handled the car and would eventually threaten her in the process.
This continued for a while... Meanwhile, she had always loved children... She'll visit the labour ward in the hospital from time to time to either pay off the bills or gift the new born baby sets of clothes... She never fails to visit a friend or family member who put to birth. When she visited, it was a relieved to the family.
After five years, she was able to put to birth, a baby boy. Everyone was excited about it. She was expected to conceive again and birth more since she was growing in age daily... She could not help the situation, she could only cry, run to church and pray. Her pastor was also actively involved and was always there to pray and encourage her at all times.
Despite her challenges, she was able to go out always to face her challenges... they beneficiaries will always pray for her and she'll always come back to confide in me that she feels satisfied... I asked her one of those times while she came to the office and was acting all strong... How are you? She almost broke into tears... She told me that she has to be strong to sustain and preserve her home.
After a period of 6 years, her husband came back and she commented that he wasn't nagging... The husband travelled in two weeks. She became sick after then and decided to go to the hospital. A test was carried out on her and she was confirmed pregnant ...🥰
This time, the excitement wasn't as intense as the first, the usual was expected. She experienced complications but medical interventions were always in time to relieve her.
When she was term, she delivered quadruplet. Three boys and one girl... Her joy was full, her husband was overwhelmed and could not stop showering her with love.
She gave birth to the number of children she would have birth on a two years spacing in a space of 10 years. She lost nothing... They lived happily ever after...

It's not really easy for married women who undergoes difficulty in child bearing, if you are not strong enough, you might cry everyday filling the bucket because when you see other with Thier kids you just dont feel comfortable when compared to your situation. But I am happy for her, she is able to give birth again. Thanks for sharing Mrs Pat Story, she is trully a resilient figure.
Thank you very much for stopping by, she's very resilient in all ramifications and an icon to everyone around her.
Wow, I was impressed with the story. No doubt she is a very strong woman for putting up with so much abuse and humiliation.
In the end God rewarded her with her children, which was what she longed for the most. I am happy for her.
Thanks a lot, we're all happy that her prayers was answered.
A beautiful story of perseverance of your friend, a woman with a lot of strength in the face of a husband perhaps and from my little knowledge of your culture, too biased to the worth of women only to bear children.
Thanks for stopping by, it's amazing having you around. Women go through a lot here and I pray these phase of abuses pass away in soonest.
