~ 😘 Hello Splinterlands Lovers around the world 😘 ~
Welcome back to my blog,
@queen-silvia, In this Battle Weekly Challenge, I am going to share The most entertaining battle of YGGSPL Tourney where I have become a champion 😆. So this is the second time for me to be a champion. My first was being a champion at Archipelago Modern Bronze Tourney. You might want to see the detail in this blog :
Archipelago Modern Bronze Tourney
In this article I will share the most interesting battle throughout the tournament. I wish the battle can give you additional battle strategies to be implemented in every battle, either brawl, ranked battle or tournaments. It's really important to have wide range of attack strategies to win matches in any kind of ruleset. The way we anticipate the opponent's movement and tactics is very crucial too.
This article will explain about the following topics :
- Tourney Overview
- Road to Champion
- Final Result
- Battle link of the most interesting one
- Line Up Preview
- Battle Analysis
- Strategy explanation
- Announcement of the giveaway #26 winner
- Giveaway #28
- TOURNEY OVERVIEW -
This is a single elimination tourney where the players have to win at least 1 match in qualifier round and 2 win at default round & final round in order to advance to the next round So ... this kind of tourney has higher pressure than anytime round. The highest pressure is of course in the qualifier round, If you failed to win the match. Well, it's over, you may forget the tourney and focus to the other.
Another interesting stuff in single elimination tourney is that you need "some luck" to avoid strong players in the early round ha ha. If you are lucky enough, the RNG god will give you easier opponent in the beginning and finally meet the tougher opponent in the end but as a player if we want to be a champion, we have to win every match no matter how much CP your opponent has. The right strategy will bring you a victory.
Well, The YGG SPL tourney requires 1000 CP of modern cards and 1 DEC for entry fee, not that high so all players, either new or old could join this tourney. The league of this tourney is bronze so the maximum level for common, rare, epic and legendary are 3, 2, 2, 1. No legendary cards either summoner or monster is allowed in the tourney so it really train the players skill to make better strategy. The card allowed for the tourney is modern reward and chaos legion only.
- ROAD TO CHAMPION -
The table below is showing who my opponents was along with the pictures of the monsters and summoner we used in the battle :

For Those who are on the above list, Thank you for playing with me. That was very great game 🔥
- FINAL RESULT -
Alright, Here is the result. I am very lucky to have 14 wins and 2 loses. Actually the number of winning is not really important. What really matter is we need to qualify to the next round trying to climb as high as we can. Regarding prize, Both the finalist (I and
@watari-21) got a Chaos Legion Pack. The third and forth (
@maplelicious and
@bjyshadow) got 1K DEC and the fifth spot (
@keithray) got 500 DEC. I'd like to say congratulations to all the winners.
- BATTLE LINK OF THE MOST INTERESTING ONE -
Alright, I am picking one of the final battle as we (I and Watari-21) have the same idea on how the match should be going. The battle link is available HERE
The mana cost is just 19. It's considered as low mana so we need to pick up the cards very carefully. Talking about rulesets, we have silenced summoners and equalizer. Here is the tips and tricks for both ruleset :
1. Silence Summoner
The best strategy for this ruleset is using summoner who costs 2 mana (epic summoner) so that we can have more mana to arrange team for the battle. Summoners have no ability in this ruleset so try to avoid using high mana summoners. Another advantage of using epic summoners is they could summon monster with higher level than rare summoner, for example level 2 epic summoner can summon level 3 rare monsters while level 2 rare summoner can only summon level 2 rare monsters.
2. Equalizer
The best strategy for this ruleset is to fill all 6 spots in the battle field so that all monsters can get the advantage of additional health point. At the start of battle all monsters will have the same HP so we can ignore the number of HP while choosing cards and more focus on the strategy for attacking or counter the opponent. If the mana for the battle is low, try to use any monsters with low mana cost as well. Keep in mind that filling all the spots in equalizer ruleset is very important.

- BATTLE ANALYSIS -
Alright everybody, for now, let's jump into the battle analysis :
Round 1 - 3
We have the same strategy in this battle, first one is using 2 sneak monsters. Second, we filled all the spots available (first until sixth position) since the ruleset is Equalizer. Third We were using low mana monsters as the tank who have no attack. It's pretty common in low mana and equalizer ruleset since the main focus is to attack the enemy in the backrow. Forth, we both using the scavenger ability. This ability is also very crucial since we do believe both of us will use many monsters and there will be many monsters died which increase the HP of monster who has scavenger ability.
Round 4 - 6
One mistake that watari made is he put his main monsters in the fifth and forth position. This is not good for him since my Uraeus and Tenyii Striker would kill them soon. As we can see in the end, only Time Mage left and with her 1 magic attack, It looks like a worthless attack. Tenyii and Uraeus are keep attacking all monsters in the back line. The same thing as Ant Miner who keep attacking Chaos agent. He grows his health point whenever a monster die in the battlefield.
Round 7 - end
The match looks very unbalanced at this point. The battle was getting worse after time mage died. With 5 melee attack, the fire team could kill Vulguine very easily. The match is over. Fire team won the match and bring the top spot for
@queen-silvia 🏆
- STRATEGY EXPLANATION -
The lesson learned in this battle is never use your main attacker in the fifth and sixth position if you believe that your opponent will use sneak monsters. If you do so, your main monsters will die very quickly and you will no longer have monster with great attack.
