DESTROY OPPONENT'S ARMOR USING SPECIAL ABILITY (Plus Giveaway #76 : Screeching Vulture)

Welcome back to my blog, @queen-silvia. So in this week, the ruleset theme of the Battle Mage Secret Weekly Challenge is Armored Up. Do you excited with it guys? 😀 Well, I am excited whatever the ruleset is, because I love all them and there are specific strategies we should utilize in order to win the match 🏆. Yeah, for sure. Alright, before we are discussing about Armored Up 🛡 ruleset in depth, let's take a look at the basic concept of Armored Up 🛡 first, Here we go :

What is Armored Up?

  Armored Up : All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.  

Additional 2 armors 🛡 for all friendly monsters!, Wow, Does that sounds cool? The Armor will protect our monsters from melee and ranged attack. It can also protect our monsters from magic attack 🎩 if we used Grand Master Rathe as a Summoner. Well, Now the question is, What's the key 🗝 strategy to win this battle when Armored Up 🛡 ruleset coming up? The answer is to destroy all the opponent's armor using Special ability like Rust or Shatter .

1. The Shatter ability will destroy all of the Opponent's armor 🛡 when the attack hits the target, so no matter how high the armor 🛡, it will all broken in one hit, Sounds pretty cool right?

2. The Rust ability reduced all of the opponent's armor by 2. It works when the battle ⚔️ started and will be deactivated when monsters with rust ability died in the battle field.

Well, in this article, I'll explain about How to use Shatter ability properly using The Immortalis as the Summoner. He is the new Chaos Legion Legendary Summoner from Earth Splinter who is very useful in many rulesets. Let's Go!

Rulesets

There are 3 rulesets in this battle, Here they are :

Broken Armor	Armored Up	Stampede
Ranged attack Monsters may not be used in battles.	All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.	The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.

Well, based on the three rulesets above, the most dominant ruleset is Broken Arrows , that means only Melee and Magic attack can be used in the battle. So some right summoners to be used are Mylor Crowling as he gives Thorn ability and Immortalis as he gives void ability to reduce the magic attack. Well, Defensive Players will use both Summoners, but if you like attacking strategy, you may use Tarsa to increase the melee 💪 damage or Valnamor / Alric Stormbringer to increase the magic 🎩 damage.

Another ruleset which has significant impact is the Armored Up . This is the second reason why Immortalis is important. He gives all friendly monsters shatter ability to destroy all of the opponent's armor 🛡 in one hit. The last ruleset is Stampede . This ruleset is useful if we put monster with Trample ability in the arena since they can hit another monster once the target killed, but armored up ruleset is the barrier.

Mana and Splinters

The battle consisted of 56 mana, Pretty high for Gold League so we can arrange good team consisted of Melee 💪 and Magic 🎩 monsters with various options. I was thinking about whether using Mylor or Immortalis in this battle but since the mana is high, that means player will likely use magic 🎩 monsters more than melee 💪 so I decided to use Immortalis. The Armored Up ruleset make me more sure that Immortalis is the right summoner.

There are 4 splinters available for the battle ; Water, Earth, Life and Dragon. Byzantine Kitty 😻 is also a good summoner for this ruleset since Dragon is available. The next section will show us what was the line up I used for the battle ⚔️.

Summoner

Level 3 Immortalis

There are several reasons why this summoner is needed in the battle. First, The ruleset is Broken Armor , That means only melee and magic monsters available. The Void ability will reduce the damage of the magic monsters and even if the Opponent used melee monsters, we can still put monster with shield ability at the first place to reduce their damage. the second reason why this summoner matters is because of the armored up ruleset. The Shatter ability is very useful to destroy all of the opponent's armor. His last ability is to reduce all of the opponent's health point ♥️ by -1. This is also pretty cool ability especially in Noxious Fumes or Earthquake ruleset.

Tips 💡

Use Summoners who give Void ability like Immortalis or Mimosa Nightshade if there's chance that the opponent will use magic monsters.

First Monster

Level 5 Grund

The first monster that I used in the battle is Grund. I put him in the first position because he has double 4 melee 💪 damage so we all understand that he has such a destructive power to wipe out his enemy. Although he has no shield nor void ability, I am not afraid to put him in the first position because There is Mycelic Slipspawn in the last position with his taunt ability so all the attack will definitely go to the taunt monsters first (except if the opponent is using scattershot ability). Grund has 4 armors and 12 health points which can make this monster alive long enough to hold the enemies attack.

Tips 💡

Putting monster with no shield nor void ability as a tank is fine as long as we use taunt monster in the last position to protect him.

Second Monster

Level 2 Oaken Behemoth

The second monster is Oaken behemoth. This monster is chosen because he is a very great monster as a second tank with his 7 void armor which protects him from magic 🎩 attack to hit directly to his health points. There's 9 HP which could hold the opponent's attack for several rounds. Regarding attack, This monster is also cool with 2 magic 🎩 damage and 3 melee 💪 damage. His special ability is reach so he can attack the opponent even if he is at the second position. In specific condition where we have monster with stun ability, this monster became beast as he has Knock-out ability to double his damage.

Tips 💡

Second tank monster is very important in high mana battle.

Third Monster

Level 8 Sand Worm

The next giant monster is Sand worm. In high mana battle, this monster is very effective to destroy the opponent's team backline with his sneak ability. His snare ability is also work perfectly to hit the opponent's monster with flying ability because his attack will never miss. Well, Unlike some other offensive monsters, his attack to HP ratio is very high at level 8. It's 6/9 or 0.67 Common monsters have 0.5 of attack to health ratio. The higher ratio the more offensive that card is!

Tips 💡

In high mana battle, Use Sand Worm to wipe out the opponent's monsters at the back line.

Forth Monster

Level 8 Goblin Psychic

The next monster is Goblin Psychic. He is a common type monster but very crucial in almost all of battles using earth splinters. The reason is because he has tank heal ability which could restore the health points of the tank monster each round. The second ability is the reverse of the first one, the affliction ability will prevent the target to be healed (unless get cleansed) and the third ability is silence . This ability is soo useful to counter the opponent's magic monsters since it reduces the magic damage by -1.

Tips 💡

In high mana battle, Use Sand Worm to wipe out the opponent's monsters at the back line.

Fifth Monster

Level 8 Queen Mycelia

Now Let's talk about Queen Mycelia. I really like this card because whenever I use Earth splinter, There is 85% chance that I am gonna use this card as well. It's like the Dr. Blight of Earth splinter. Why I said that? It's because she has Protect ability which gives additional 2 armor to all of friendly monsters, amplify which can increase the Thorn, Magic reflect or return fire damage and triage ability which can heal the most damaged friendly monsters in the back line.

Tips 💡

Use amplify to increase the damage of Thorn, Magic Reflect, and Return Fire.

Sixth Monster

Level 6 Mycelic Slipspawn

The last monster is Mycelic Slipspawn. If you have a monster with very high attack like Grund, or Serpentine Spy or Deeplurker and you want to protect them, Using monster with taunt ability is the solution because he can pull all of the enemies attack ⚔️. All friendly monsters will be protected until monster with taunt died in the battle field. We can stack monsters with triage ability to restore taunt monsters health points in each round to make him immortal.

Tips 💡

Use monster with taunt ability to protect friendly monsters.

Alright, all the line up has been explained, Now let's move to the battlefield and see how the strong Immortalis at Armored Up 🛡 ruleset.

Here is the battle looks like in the first round :

The opponent set lots of offensive monsters like Arkemis Bear, Carnage Titan, Chaos Dragon and Deep Lurker. All of them are attacking Mycelic Slipspawn because of his taunt ability. Unfortunately, Dr. Blight attack activates affliction to Slipspawn so Queen Mycelia could not restore his health points with her triage ability. While the dragon team attack is going to Slipspawn, Sand Worm killed the opponent's monsters at the backline started from the Deeplurker first. Thanks to Goblin Psychic for reducing the Chaos Dragon magic damage, the dragon attack only inflicted 1 damage and the blast effect has no damage at all.

The Power of Shatter

If we are looking at the battle, we can see how powerful Shatter ability as it removes all of the 4 armor at round 1, 11 armor at round 2 and 8 armor at round 3. Very cool. Without Shatter, It will take several rounds to destroy those armors and there's chance that the earth splinters will be killed first since dragon 🐉 team is more offensive than earth 🍃 splinters. At the end of battle, the earth 🍃 splinter won the battle without any monsters falling down.
