WHEN THE NETWORK SENDS YOU TO HILL…

Counting the number of times our so called nigerian network has disappointed me just this year alone would not only be waste of time, but would also be a waste of energy and resources. This is to tell you how heartbroken I’ve gotten in the past because of this same network issue. It would have been better if only you can see how upset i am right now, the mere thought of it happening is actually getting me infuriated and upset. I just hate it when the network goes out on me, it makes me feel like everything in the world has eventually come to a standstill…

The rate at which the network fucks up randomly now is very high, which means anything can happen anytime, and when these things happen a lot of things go wrong both physically and mentally, what haven’t we experienced before in terms of network abnormalities, is it the unexpected ending of online classes or the sudden loss of online games. Battling with a problem like network issues is a very difficult one, and i hate it to the bone, especially when i am playing a live game with my friends or when i am trying to lighten up my mood with skits and comedy videos and the network bar suddenly disappears…

I have done a lot of crazy things just to get back my network. I remember the last time I traveled to my Big mum’s place, mehn that place is the height of network issues, sims like MTN, 9mobile and Glo don’t work in their underdeveloped area. The only sim that works well is a AIRTEL sim and sometimes it also becomes unstable, depending on the time you are making use of it. It works extremely well at the odd hours of the day but not actively during day time…

There was a time I forgot my Airtel sim at home, the initial plan was to spend 2 weeks with my big mum before going home. I was about doing my usual online work, tasks like making a post, engaging on hive, chatting in discord servers and on other social media platforms. I dipped my hand where I kept my airtel sim and couldn’t find it there, after hours of searching I realized I didn’t remove it from my other device. To get my daily tasks done i only had two options; ** it was either i have to climb the tall hill to get a stable MTN network or i have to walk about 1km- 1.5km to get a new airtel sim. I chose the former. I started the hill climbing journey just to get a network to get my daily work done…

I got to the top of the hill after so much work, only for me to get there and realize there was no network on that hill around that time. I couldn’t head down so i had to wait for hours before MTN network came back. It came back with just a bar after hours of waiting and waiting. I had to quickly get my work done before it got dark…

In summary, that was just one of my experiences with network issues, i remember the time i did a multiple transfer of over fifteen thousand naira, i was busy that day and didn’t realize it had gone twice it was later I realized the mistake i made because of the network issues and immediately reached out to get it sorted out…

In conclusion, I learnt a great lesson that day, since then I didn’t forget to bring my airtel sim with me upon any travel, instead of 14 days i ran back home on the 5th day, where do i see the strength to climb up and down a hill. No, it’s impossible…
