There is a big difference between maturity and adulthood, and the difference between these two is what many people out there have failed to understand deeply...

In the last couple of decades, I have met people with different maturity levels, all of which include the immature, mature, early adulthood, forced adulthood, and many more...

In this life, I have encountered both an immature adult and a mature child. This is my way of telling you maturity is not solely determined by age, it is determined by something more. some years ago, I came across a child in a youth seminar I went to, his questions, his way of thinking, and his views on the matters discussed that day were impeccable and out of this world, even some adults won't ask such brilliant questions and make that awesome contributions, everything about him was pointing towards one crucial point; maturity is not solely dependent on AGE but on something more...

For instance, a young boy of age 15 who loses his parents at that age with no other family to run to, and with a younger sister of 8 years. In this situation, the boy is expected to take responsibility for his younger sister, since they have no family to either cater for them or run to. In this case, the boy will be forced to grow and mature faster than his age, as he knows he must provide for his sister in the absence of their parents. This is a detailed example of forced growth and early adulthood....

In summary, sometimes challenges and situations force us to grow and mature faster than our age. Well, that was just a brief introduction into what I have for you all today, and without any further delay, let's dive deeper into the topic; the ideal adult age...

The ideal age to be called an adult should be 20 years in my own opinion, even if it's stated otherwise in my country, I still believe that should be the right age. 18 years and above is the age when one stops being called a minor in my country and I think this is accurate enough...

A minor is someone between the age gap of 1-17 years. This age gap is quite accurate as many children in this age gap are mostly still college students or high schoolers. Any child from 18 years and above is no longer a minor irrespective of where they are in their academic field...

If it were up to me, I think I would just move with the flow of things, 18 years old is accurate enough to be termed as early adulthood, as many at this age have started experiencing life in different dimensions, using myself as a primary example, I graduated high school at the age of 17 and I started hustling to make ends meet at age 18...

I believe at the age of 18, every child born to parents should have made up his or her mind on how he or she wants to live his or her life, and by 18+ he or she should create a path to start walking on it, an 18-year-old is no longer a minor, at this age one is expected to have started planning his or her future...

As I have said in my introduction paragraphs, age does not matter when it comes to maturity, there is a thin line between maturity and age. A child of 20 years and above can be considered old and might not be mature one bit while a child of 15 years can be considered young but still be more matured than a child of 20 years and above. Situation and challenges is a factor that plays big role in maturity...

In conclusion, the difference between maturity and adulthood is miles away, we should not mix these two different things, there is a big gap between an adult with a mature mind and a child with a mature mind, the difference is that situation and life's challenges has already altered one of the two...
