A CRIME IS A CRIME AND WHAT IS BAD IS BAD…
A world with no rules and regulations guiding it has no CRIME, but in a world where there are numerous rules and regulations guiding each and every one of our actions and behaviors, criminal activities are bound to happen. -Burlarj…
I just couldn’t resist starting my post with this beautiful phrase when it popped up in my head after i read the short brief attached to it. I was equally surprised to see @burlarj’s post pop up when i searched for the meaning of the above phrase on the internet. The first thing i saw after my search was a post he made two years ago about a similar topic, the post had some of my searched key words as his title, which is why his post was the result of my search. Ahahah, what a funny occurrence, respect my man…
Now let’s dive right into why i am here today. When we talk about justifiable crimes, I am talking about crimes that have good motives behind their occurrence and should likely be pardoned by the government…
First and foremost, a crime is a crime, and every criminal deserves to be punished by the law, irrespective of the severity of the crime committed. Let’s not try to polish the word crime by adding a word like major or minor to it, at least for now let’s keep it aside. A crime is a crime and what is bad is bad, there is no other way to put it. Irrespective of the motive behind the crime, it is bad and it mustn’t go unpunished, so therefore every offender and rule breaker must be punished for the crime(s) they commit…
If we start being partial to some crimes and criminal activities in the world, in no time will we be rearing and entertaining hardened criminals within the society, simply because we humans tend to abuse every opportunity given to us on a platter of gold. The reason we have rules and regulations guiding our society is because we want to limit the rate of crimes and criminal behavior within the country…
There is a saying that goes like this; ”To err is human, and to forgive is divine”. This particular statement is only applicable to human daily lives and not in a situation where a person commits a crime. Every law break must be punished for breaking the law. No matter the level of crime committed, he or she must be tried and allowed to face the consequences of their actions…
When it comes to crimes, i know we have some minor and major crimes out there, but then that doesn’t mean either of those two are good, both levels of crime is punishable by the law and they are bad…
IS THERE A JUSTIFIABLE CRIME???…
Honestly, I don’t know from which point should i answer this question, i have been thinking about this for some minutes now and right now i think i be will answering this question from the position of a good citizen and not from a victim position…
I don’t think there is anything like a justified crime. I don’t want to know the motive behind the occurrence of the crime, one thing I know is that there is always a legal approach to everything in life. If a person harms you or hurts you in any way, don’t take law into your hands. Do the right thing by reporting to the nearby authorities and what will be done will be done…
If there were to be a crime that I think can be pardoned to an extent, I think that crime would be a crime of stealing foodstuffs. This is the only crime I think should be pardoned, especially if the guilty is doing it for their siblings or family. Any crime asides from this is a no partiality for me…
In conclusion, I know the law can be pretty harsh sometimes on offenders, but then we can’t totally blame the law for their actions, even the offender involved needs to take some responsibility for the final verdict. The law needs to be harsh sometimes, especially if their strictness will make the public stay away from crimes. What will be will be, especially if it’s matters relating to the law. Let’s just pray we don’t get on the bad side of the law, and that will only happen if we stay very far away from crimes…
THANKS FOR READING…
...If we start being partial to some crimes and criminal activity in the world, in no time we will SURELY be entertaining hardened criminals...
I think stealing of foodstuff being justifiable would be partial to the owner of the stolen foodstuff.
