Trying Street Food in Lovina

My day in Lovina started with a morning stroll down the street, where I stumbled upon a charming little stall run by a local couple. They offered a variety of traditional Balinese rice cakes, which paired wonderfully with my coffee.

Interestingly, the coffee came in a half-full glass, as if someone had already taken a sip. This is just the way they serve it in Lovina, making for a unique experience.

The couple was delightful. While the wife was busy serving customers at the front, her husband was at the back of the house cooking more cakes, fried bananas, and other treats. I also enjoyed some of the fried bananas, which were simple yet delicious.

Later, I tried a typical Balinese breakfast of mixed rice. It came with rice, an omelet, shredded chicken, and vegetables. Although the spiciness was a bit more intense than what I’m used to in South Bali, I found it flavorful and satisfying.

For lunch, I ventured out with friends and enjoyed some rice with pork meatballs, which I particularly liked. The street food experience was enjoyable, and the quiet atmosphere of Lovina made it even better.

In the evening, I explored more food options for dinner. I sat cross-legged on a mat, having mixed rice, because the vendors didn’t have any seats for me, but it didn't really matter because I enjoyed it.

The street food vibe and the spicy kick of the rice made for a delightful end to the day. Lovina’s food scene, combined with its less crowded roads, offered a pleasant change from the hustle and bustle of South Bali.

Street foods are the best, it may be simple for some but for me, it's an ideal place for my cousins whenever we want to eat and hang out.
