The Beach Escape
Yesterday, with the heat almost unbearable, I decided a beach visit was a good idea. I thought it'd be nice to catch the sunset and feel the breeze. My family and I piled into the car, discussing which beach to go to. We’ve visited most of the nearby beaches, so we wanted somewhere a bit different, somewhere less familiar. After some back and forth (and a quick Google Maps consult), we settled on a spot called Baluk Rening.
So, there we were heading to the beach about 13kms from our home to the west.
As soon as we arrived, my daughter recognized the place. She reminded us we had been here during the Covid restrictions, though the beach was closed then, serving as an isolation site for the nearby hotel.
We strolled along the pavement, watching fishing boats head out to sea, probably in search of the day's catch. The sunset was gorgeous, casting a warm glow over the ocean. My son played in the sand, searching for crabs as he always does, but came up empty this time.
We decided to order noodles from a nearby food stall, and the kids happily enjoyed their noodles and drinks. I didn’t order anything, just soaked in the cooler air and the beauty of the moment with my family. Although the sunset wasn’t fully visible, the view was stunning, and the calmness of the scene made it feel even more special. I watched other families enjoying the evening, appreciating the simplicity of it all.
As our beach visit came to an end, we took a quick detour to a shopping centre before finally heading home. It felt like the perfect way to wrap up a beautiful day at Baluk Rening Beach.
It looks very nice to have such a walk by the sea. It is nice to see the fishing boats going to the sea. Best wishes to you.
Thanks for best wishes. Yes, it was a hot day, every day, I need some kind of escape from the heat. The beach is a great place.
