A Sunday Stroll in Renon Square

After four long years since the COVID-19 pandemic began, I finally took a walk to Renon Square with my kids. This was our first time visiting the square together, and it felt like a special visit, especially seeing how much they have grown.

Renon Square was bustling with life, more so because it was a Sunday and a car-free day. From 7 to 10 in the morning, the street in front of the square is blocked off, allowing people to walk freely without worrying about traffic. The atmosphere was lively with many families, kids, and groups enjoying the open space.

As we walked around, my kids and I noticed how much things have changed. There were people riding electric vehicles and electric motorcycles, a trend we hadn't seen before. The square was also filled with people performing dance routines, especially TikTok dancers, which added a modern touch to the traditional space.

Before heading to the market, we encountered an exciting scene. A reptile organization had set up a display with snakes and iguanas. People were eager to play with the snakes and take photos with them. Even kids were interested in taking photos with a yellow python and a black phyton snake. It was fascinating to watch, though we didn't take any photos ourselves.

After enjoying this unique sight, we continued to explore. We stumbled upon an ice seller and couldn't resist trying their refreshing treats. My son opted for a matcha tea drink, and my daughter chose a taro drink. Both beverages were sweet and satisfying, perfect for the heat of day. (well, the day was a bit cloudy.)

The square was full of families spending quality time together, taking photos, and playing with their children. In the center of Renon Square, there's a bell-shaped tower that is actually a museum. Unfortunately, it was closed because it was Sunday, but it still added to the charm of the area.

Overall, our walk to Renon Square was a delightful experience. It was heartening to see so many families enjoying the day together, and it felt great to be out and about with my kids after such a long time.
