A Serene Journey from Ubud to Sidemen

Today was another day for me working as a tour guide. I had the pleasure of taking my clients from the bustling town of Ubud to the tranquil village of Sidemen. Our destination? The charming hotel called Wapa Di Uma, Sidemen.

The drive from Ubud to Sidemen was peaceful, if not a bit uneventful. We traveled through village roads, passing lush green landscapes and quaint villages. I half-expected a chicken to cross the road in front of us, but it must have been their day off.

When we arrived at Wapa Di Uma, Sidemen, my clients were immediately captivated by its serene beauty. The hotel is nestled in the middle of a rice farm, with breathtaking views of the hills from the elevated lobby. The lobby itself is a bit higher, allowing guests to look down over the expansive rice fields. To reach their rooms, guests descend from the lobby via stairs.

My clients enjoyed the calm and serene beauty of the place. Being in the heart of the countryside, close to nature, they found it the perfect retreat.

Sidemen is also a wonderful place for trekking. Visitors can walk across rice fields, explore local temples, and meander through the village. A walk by the river with a picnic basket is a delightful way to spend an afternoon.

After settling my clients in, I made my way back home to Denpasar. It was a long journey today—two hours from Denpasar to Ubud, another two hours from Ubud to Sidemen, and finally, a two-hour drive back home. Traffic extended the total travel time to about eight hours.

Despite the long day, I found joy in the serene village atmosphere, which felt fresh and peaceful. Driving through the village, I saw locals going about their daily activities, but.., then I realized, I was soooo hungry.

Well, it's been a long day!
