Yo estoy por iniciar cositas en pro de mi salud que espero, Dios mediante, sean para seguir avanzando. Y es que la fibromialgia ha sido un reto para mí incluso cuando voy a coser. Por ejemplo, esta preciosa pijama tuve que hacerla por parte, es decir, en varios días y por raticos. Igualmente, estoy muy feliz de poder terminarla 🥳

No podría decirles cuál de las dos prendas fue más sencilla de hacer, pues las dos, tanto el short como la franelilla, fueron sencillas. En el caso de la franelilla creo que el reto fue el sesgo que lleva tanto en el cuello como en las sisas, más que todo por el tema de estirar correctamente el sesgo y no hacerlo de más, ya que esta tela en específico (microdurazno) tiende a ondularse mucho cuando uno la estira. Eso fue lo que me pasó con el cuello 😅

I couldn't tell you which of the two garments was easier to make, because both, the shorts and the flannel, were simple. In the case of the flannel, I think the challenge was the bias in the neckline and armholes, mostly because of the issue of stretching the bias correctly and not over stretching it, since this specific fabric (microdurazno) tends to ripple a lot when you stretch it. That's what happened to me with the collar 😅

Para las sisas de la franelilla elegí no hacerle mangas ni cortas ni largas, más bien quise dejarla así para que fuera mucho más fresca porque los días de calor se han extendido un poco. Y para que quedara un mejor acabado en vez de hacerle solo un dobladillo simple preferí colocarle sesgo de la misma tela que a mí parecer le quedó hermoso 😍

For the armholes of the flannel I chose not to make it with long or short sleeves, I wanted to leave it that way so that it would be much cooler because the hot days have extended a little. And for a better finish instead of just a simple hem I preferred to put a bias binding of the same fabric, which I think looked beautiful 😍

Algo nuevo que probé en este proyecto fue una puntada de mi máquina que no había usado nunca. Mi amiga Mariana me escribió hace unos días y me dijo que le había ido muy bien al usar esta puntada y me preguntó si alguna vez yo la había usado. Fue el momento perfecto para utilizarla en esta tela tan hermosa. La usé tanto para hacer los ruedos del short y la franelilla, como para los remates de las prendas.

Something new I tried on this project was a stitch on my machine that I had never used before. My friend Mariana wrote me a few days ago and told me that she had done very well using this stitch and asked me if I had ever used it. It was the perfect time to use it on this beautiful fabric. I used it both for the hems of the shorts and the flannel, as well as for the tops of the garments.

Noté que la puntada es bastante sencilla, amplia y no se enredó en ningún momento mientras la estuve usando. Me gustó mucho porque es y queda como una especie de doble puntada recta y un doble zigzag, así que la prenda está súper reforzada.

I noticed that the stitch is quite simple, wide and didn't tangle at any point while I was using it. I really liked it because it is and stays kind of like a double straight stitch and a double zigzag, so the garment is super reinforced.
