BELIEVE IT OR NOT? CHILDHOOD MYTH'S
BELIEVE IT OR NOT? CHILDHOOD MYTH'S
Good morning nigeria, it's another exciting week in the community where we have to share these thoughtful memories of how life was many years ago when we were just kids.
Normally, children are stubborn, they don't listen to instructions, some don't even want to know the consequences of their actions and so they tend to do things carelessly but in the end it would be the responsibilities of an adult to coach the child in the right direction. But what happens if the child acts reluctant when an adult tries to correct them? This is where the myth comes into play.
No doubt i was one hell of a stubborn child back then so i guess that is why my parents gave me a lot of these myth's because my wahala was too much for them to handle with just cautions and instructions.
WHAT ARE THOSE CHILDHOOD MYTH'S AND LIES I'VE BELIEVED MY WHOLE LIFE???
Well, not all myth's were to caution us or lead us through mischiefs but instead, some are just useless and meaningless. I understand that most of our parents also told us different versions of the original myths that they themselves were being told by their own parents and now every child has the same myth believed in a different versions. Take for instance in my case,
I still do not know why i had to always throw my fallen tooth on a roof top for a new one to germinate in my mouth. This myth is so useless that i can't even figure out the reason for such. Shockingly you might have heard the reversed story maybe your parents always asking you to burry yours in the soil when it falls off. See why i said everyone now has their own unique myth version?!.
A pregnant woman would never permit you to walk cross her legs because you are always short and ugly and now your physical appearances tend to be contagious and they wouldn't want their unborn child to look short and ugly like you! I mean WTH?!
They told me whenever i'm having an orange fruit that i shouldn't swallow the orange seeds into my tummy else it would germinate and i would be carrying an orange tree on my head. If only i still remember the exact person that lied this bitter lie to me we for don fight.
Well these are just but a few myths i could remember at this time and it took me some good years of maturity before i understood that all these were just lies and never meant anything positive.
But despite all these, to be honest there is still one myth I'm yet to let go from my head, whenever i try to assume that it was just a myth, i end up believing it the more and that is the second myth i mentioned in this post so please pregnant women should help me out thank you in advance.

Hahaha 😂. Our parents really dealt with us with some of these lies. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, most of them were to help coach us from mischiefs
But some of them were very harmful. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.
Guys aswear all these myths, them used am for us,
They is this one that if you throw a child up in the night the child will vanish. I no still understand the stuff till now
Lols, this is the first time im also hearing this one tho 😅 anyways i guess this one has dealt with you so much 😂
Nobody will not believe myths during their childhood. I do a lot of this myths back then whenever my teeth removed like this either I throw it up or I put it under my pillow so that lizard will not see it loll
Under the pillow?😅 This is hilarious. I guess everyone has their own unique story to tell in respect of this very myth.
Yess
Now I don't believe it anymore
The funniest part of all this is that the myths made sense to us when we were small, we believed so much in them until we came of age.
Some were stupid, they had no impact while some were really to caution us but they all served the purpose of preventing us from doing things that weren't meant to do.
Hahaha very true, it seemed to be the realest thing we've ever heard back then. Even up till now I'm still struggling to let go of some even after knowing it was just a lie 😅.
They really prevented us from a lot, if not for these myth's, we might have fallen into some wrong dids. Thanks so much jungle man ❤️
Hehehe 😆
I also heard of all this while I was younger
Expecially that tooth stuff, throwing it above the ruff, I did it very well, and was so careful that I wouldn't throw my fallen tooth anyhow onless on our ruff
But after I grew up I realized they were all lies
Haha, i still wonder who came about that idea and what really inspired the person to do such. Some myths are quite helpful because they coach us not to do the wrong things but this very one is just useless 😅😂
Have heard most of these before also. But that pregnancy part its not real. It just serve to protect the pregnant woman, cause, if one cross and the person stumble it may cause injury. My view 🤷🏼♀️
Wow, i never thought about that, you could be right. To my POV i think you seem to be a mother?
Or an upcoming mother?
😊 upcoming
