The Provocative Language of Flowers

Flowers, flora, blossoms, inflorescence
That which you desire
You accomplish through the physical
Your flashy petals, sultry smells
Colors so intense they remain unseen
Is it vanity? No.
Perhaps necessity or even desperation

The savage herb, unplanted and neglected
That seeks aqua and sol
Yet dry and shaded it be
Musters its all
And for what?
To put on a tiny burlesque show
For birdies and pixies to enjoy alike

This quaint little pageant
The last of its kind
Was not only a composition of song and wine
It brings babes anew
Who will grow and learn
And think twice if you cross her
Her promiscuity is necessary to breed and prosper

This is absolutely stunning! There's something sad and also sexual - the flower has no choice but to strut across the stage - the survival of her species depends on her dance!

Loved this - I didn't realise you had a poet in you! Wonderful stuff.

Hmm that imagery brought such beautiful mental pictures that made me smile.
The last verse lol about their promiscuity did make me laugh out loud.
