What Do I Do Indoors?

This isn't the first, second or even the tenth time I will be talking about how I have been an indoor person, one that was influenced by my upbringing. I was brought up by disciplinarians and they had to handle us so tight to the extent of not coming close to any boy or guy. The only time I spoke with a guy was during school hours or when I needed to attend to male customers. But we were careful not to have a long dialogue or interaction with them.

Being locked up often shaped me into who I am today; someone who loves and enjoys her cosy corner. But as I grew up, I became so used to it that I hardly see myself spending even thirty minutes outside. I had to teach myself to step out more when I was in the university, and I enjoyed it, though I still battle with going out except when I needed to go to the market or mall to pick up a few things I'd be needing for myself.

It got to the point that it became a tug of war to even visit the market, and if I possibly found someone who was going to the market, I'd beg them to include a few things for myself and wouldn't mind giving them transport fare.

I have had to be asked several times this question: what do you do indoors all day and all the time? Aren't you tired of locking yourself up all through the day? I would just smile. When it calls for me to go out, at least, for my body not to be cooked in the process of being indoors for days, I tend to step outside for fresh air, which is different from being inside.

What activities do I engage in when I am indoors?

I'm always on my phone all day and it's always my favourite activity to do as I could perform a whole lot on it. My phone doesn't rest until I decide to let it rest - either when I need to bath, sleep, or do something very important that I wouldn't have a choice but to keep my phone aside or when the phone is heating so hot due to long hours of pressing and for it not to explode in my face, I allow it rest and cool down. Phones, too, need rest even though they aren't humans, but they always find ways to be dropped to cool down, or else you might be saving up for another phone real soon or unexpectedly.

I am a gentle type and do not talk too much but when it comes to phone, I am always chatty with it. I like to classify myself as an introvert offline and an extrovert online. If not on my phone, it's cooking or I might just be doing silly things like running around the house playfully, making fun of myself, and acting in a solo drama, but majorly, it's me being on the phone.

What do I do on my phone then?

Read the Bible. Watch movies. Listen to music on my Spotify app. Read novels in pdf. Write & Engage on Hive. Scroll through sites and social media, mostly on YouTube, Twitter, WhatsApp, Discord, Linkedin or Telegram (this, a little bit though) mining airdrops, setting the alarms, swiping through Pinterest, taking courses on either Udemy, Alison, Coursera, scrolling through my gallery and laughing at every picture with beautiful memories, everything on phone, I am always busy. I just can't mention everything I do but one thing is that I don't waste my time swiping or scrolling through shit.

I just find myself swiping from left and right. Been on one thing, then minimising to another thing and before you know it, seconds turn to minutes then hours and boom, the end of the day and the cycle continues the next day. At least with my phone, I get to learn a new thing daily, chat with friends, families even strangers once in a while, calls? Nah, I don't receive calls like that, and it makes me worried and ask, why do I have a phone then? But you know, with other things keeping me engaged, I don't bother if anyone calls me. When my phone rings, it is easier to detect who is calling, either my dad or my siblings 😆 but it's fine, seriously!

Now, you know how I spend my day as an indoor person and what I love doing. I am used to it. Although there are times I wish I could have somewhere to always go to, and when I don't, I keep myself inside my room while enjoying these activities. My phone is always my buddy who keeps me company when I'm alone.

I am actually an ambivert. But then I enjoy staying indoors alot more than going outside and that is just because outside is very expensive- you will spend tire lol. As much as I love staying indoors I also love going out especially to all these social parties where I can just dance and have fun.
