Spreading your eggs in different baskets brings the need for passive income.

Being financially stable is one of the core prerequisites to living a comfortable life and gone are the days when our fathers and mothers are okay doing just one job because things were better, compared to life today. Food was so cheap, clothes and the likes were bought so easily without having to complain or hiss, and in the end, the children including myself were always happy because our parents would surely get us Easter, Christmas and New Year's clothes and shoes even if we are up to five (5) kids.

Above all, there was still some money left to pay bills and house rent.

Everything has changed today and it feels like the world is going to an end. I am also experiencing it and being an adult sometimes freaks me out but what should I/we do? Of course, there is nothing we can do unless we want to be irresponsible and die of hunger.

In today's world, any individual either married or not, if found with only one job, or feels complacent will not be told to find another source of income to aid him or her attend to needs that keeps knocking at the door and one wouldn't have any choice than to open the door.

Inflation has risen to a higher level and someone who works a 9-5 Job and receives a little amount for 30 days will realize such work cannot take him anywhere except if you are the CEO or owner of the company. We have been told how not to put all eggs in one basket but to spread them in a different basket in case some unexpected circumstances happen because no one can predict the uncertainty in life.

This is where having a passive income comes in. Passive income only requires little effort to maintain. This is what we call an additional income where you don't have to stress yourself much but in addition to your main job so that at the end of the day, you will have something to save or invest with after getting all groceries and paying your bills. For sure, you are heading to having a life with stable finances.

Some years ago, I had different passive incomes through blogging on different platforms before some crashed. I remembered when I was teaching and at the same time was on Steemit. Though it wasn't easy combining both, I still had time for the two without inconveniencing one for the other. Those little cents that were adding up in my wallet turned big for me and aside from my salary, I was able to fend for myself without an aisle.

Then, along the line, I was introduced to other platforms like Uptrennd which has now closed up and Readcash which is another platform where you are paid in Bitcoin cash. One thing about these side hustles is that one has to be patient because it's always hard in the beginning but when you keep doing those small tasks by writing in the comfort of your zone and engaging, those cents which keep adding up will turn big when you do not expect it.

Right now, my major passive income is from Hive because it gives me two in one methods to make money. Since I graduated, I have been focusing more on Hive because of the second-layer tokens it has aside from writing content and I made those tokens my passive income because it doesn't require me to do much work other than curating and engaging.

I also make use of the HBD Savings as my passive income because it doesn't require any task from you. Apart from Hive being a passive income to me, I still would want an offline Job to help me cater for many needs on my neck. I am the second born and still have three siblings that are looking up to me.

Though, I must confess that the second layer tokens on Hive have helped me a lot in caring for many responsibilities and this is what I have settled with since I finished in February.

It's important to have a passive income aside from your main job because it surely would help you live the best life you want only if you are intentional about freeing yourself from the shackles of poverty.

Settling down to only one income will not help or take you far because the more we grow, the more responsibilities and bills to attend to. This is why one needs to have more than one basket to put in your eggs.

While you are on Hive, you need to focus more on those second-layer tokens like Pob, Vyb, Leo, Bro, etc and engage more on content because, at the end of the day, those tokens keep increasing, especially when you stake them.

I am always thinking to find an offline job once I am through with my NYSC service so that blogging will be my additional income which will ease things for me.
