My reasons for preferring physical shopping.

20230109_123839_0000.png

Before the advent of online shopping, it has been physical or traditional shopping all along. This is an activity of visiting shops and purchasing goods from them while online shopping is an activity of buying goods on the internet which looks so convenient for buyers if they do not want to leave their houses.

It is when technology came into existence that we now have different websites where goods can be purchased, sites like Jumia.org, Konga, AliExpress, Amazon, eBay etc. All you have to do is to visit these sites to get what you want as it is convenient and easy to get, but the delivery isn't instant but takes days or weeks to be delivered, unlike physical shopping where you get your goods and take them along with you immediately.

One big difference between online and physical shopping is.

In online shopping, you cannot touch or feel what you are buying even though you will only see it but most times, in the end, it would be “what I ordered vs what I get” stuff which will make you sad and disappointed. But for physical or traditional shopping, you can feel, touch, see and weigh the quality of what you are buying and would easily reject it if you do not want or like it which can make you visit another shop.

Egbonn.png

I will always prefer physical shopping because it is easier for me. Though online shopping is convenient and one can order any time and anywhere, I don't want to feel sad getting something or waiting for it to deliver when I could easily get out to purchase at any available store or shop.

There are reasons for choosing physical shopping which are stated below:

Safety — Physical shopping is safer than online shopping and there is no risk of online fraud and security issues like hacking which online shopping can be risky in that aspect.

Ability to touch and see products — At least I would be able to see what I am buying before making my purchase and it would be easier for me to return a product I don't like which will not cause any disappointment to me.

Prices — I don't have to spend a lot to get something and there wouldn't be charges or delivery fees, unlike online shopping where you are charged fees apart from the goods or products you are buying.

Returning products — Returning goods being purchased online can be complicated but not in traditional shopping because you can do that immediately which is relatively easier for me.

Communication — In traditional shopping, it gives me the ability to see the person attending to me and would communicate easily even if there would be negotiation, but this can't be done online. You can only be able to compare prices online and it's non-negotiable as the prices online are fixed.

Egbonn.png

For all of these reasons, I will always prefer physical shopping except if I have an online retailer who is close to me to get and order it for me. For example, there is this wristwatch I bought from my sister two years ago and still works perfectly today. She is my sister and I trust her to send the perfect product for me which I wouldn't be disappointed. But visiting sites is a no-go area for me.

Even though online shopping is easier, more convenient and can purchase anywhere and at any time, I wouldn't want to stress myself at the end of reporting or making a review of a bad product when I could just go out to get it. It might be cheaper through negotiation than online shopping and this will also enable me to save more.

Thanks for your time on my blog.

This made me chuckle

"I love to price please"

Price please is the most anxious part of shopping for me. The purest form of Social Interaction with strangers for my introvert heart.

Your points and reason for choosing physical shopping are valid, I definitely agree it's the best except in a situation when you aren't privileged to go the market to get things yourself.

You are right. But no matter what happens, I don't think I would want to visit any site to order anything except for online retailer which I trust so well.

That's what I think too. There are things I can only see online.

hhmmm I can understand and definitely girls do like doing physical shopping in my opinion, you have given some good reasons to understand why you prefer physical shopping, girls are expert in bargaining :P whereas boys cannot do the same or are not entertained properly hehehe , nice to read your article, thanks for sharing your point of views.

The stress that comes with physical shopping is something else, to escape the stress I'd pick online shopping.

You are right dear, but I prefer the online shopping to physical shopping because we are in a digital age and every thing is going digital.
Thanks for sharing.

I have been a victim of what you see is not what you get so I prefer physical shopping.
I love how you listed your reason for choosing physical shopping. Thanks for sharing more on physical shopping.

Everything that has an advantage also has its disadvantages. Online shopping is
more convenient at most times. You can just lie in the comfort of your home and purchase whatever you want with a quick delivery at your doorstep, as they will always say 😅😅😅.

But then I will choose physical shopping in terms of communication, pricing , seeing what I'm buying, being able to return goods.

In the process of buying what I want physically, I get to associate with the person and grab little knowledge on the world of trading. Perhaps, I might even become a regular but important customer 😜😅.

Also when you buys good with issues, you are free to return it for another unlike online shopping where it is boldly written on the sites and even the packages that "goods bought are not refundable" 😂😂😂

Exactly my point for choosing physical shopping because I want to communicate with the sellers, negotiate to the last chance 😂 then form a good relationship with them because I love to be called "my wonderful customer" 🤣 You cannot see this online except for retailers you are close with.

Also when you buys good with issues, you are free to return it for another unlike online shopping where it is boldly written on the sites and even the packages that "goods bought are not refundable" 😂😂😂

Even aside from that, you will still have to pay to return if they allow goods to be returned. So why not go for physical shopping jejely and save your other money? Lol

Thank you for showing up ma.

You said it all in here… the difference is clear though they come with their advantage and disadvantages too. And it’s a choice to make. But the physical shopping is still better and doesn’t poses a lot of risks compared to that of the online shopping

No one wants to hear the story that touches the heart after shedding premium tears😅😅...well including me too! The fear alone will make you think thrice before making payments online. I have never had issues with jumia because they deliver including AliExpress.

But as a sure Nigerian, I prefer physical shopping..it gives me the ability to see and touch what I am negotiating for.... came in from dreemport.

Rightly said..... One should see and touch what he is buying first before making payment to avoid premium tears as you said 😅😅

You can't touch or feel what you're ordering in Online Shopping.

Yeah, that's a good point. One of the reasons my father loves markets is because he can get cheap stuff that don't always the best of shape but he can check if they're good enough for him. He can hold them in his hands and check!

I'd say I prefer physical shopping too, but I see the value in both ways.

You are very right. One need to see and touch what they are buying if they are good or not, so they can take or return immediately. Thank you for stopping by.
