Finding the best hotel around town for my sister. Vacation loading....

One of the things I am allergic to is stress. I hate it! When it happens, it disorganises my system, it keeps me unproductive for the time being until I am fully rested and relaxed. Since I returned from the village on Saturday, the pain has been affecting me a lot. I was on the bus for over 7 hours sitting with no stretching of my legs, and by the time I got home, I still forced myself to clean up everywhere as I just couldn't sleep in a messy room filled with cobwebs. I had to do the little ones I could that evening while I found something light to eat.

Okay, enough of the rant...

While in the village, my big sis talked me through her plan of having a week's vacation to the hills and also a waterfall in two different states which are both western. She has been wishing and desiring to go on this trip but her work couldn't allow her, and now, she has the time, which to her, is another way to move away from the stressful life for the past 10 months of this year. She wanted to enjoy herself, and explore some places just to feel alone, but not alone anymore since I would be her tour guide to one of the places since I have been there before.

She told me to help her confirm a good hotel in my state where she could spend some nights before moving to another state for more exploration. I promised to do that once I got back to my place which I did today. I didn't want to go alone, so, I took a friend along.

We visited two hotels that are known to be the most popular ones in town. I haven't been there before but my friend is an indigene, she knows both hotels. We took off at noon and boarded a bike to the first hotel called Esporta. Esporta is an attractive place for people to lodge in and host events at an affordable price and has been existing for a long time. It has 3 branches and we only went to the first one that was built.

I forgot to take some pictures outside as my mind escaped that but we went inside and made some enquiries about the rooms and their prices. I took a picture of the prices and sent it to my sister to check.

I asked for the standard room to see how it is and here is how the room is.

The room has an AC and also a clean water closet which is my sister's taste. I asked for more enquiries to be clear and relayed everything to my sister. We moved out and decided to check out another popular hotel suggested by my friend just to compare prices.

The bike took us straight to an old and big hotel called Akiavic. The outside building is old and I even teased my friend that it looks like an old palace. When we entered inside, we saw another building and it was just like the phrase, "Do not judge a book by its cover".

Well, I never knew something would shock me inside. We went straight to the reception area and asked for each price of the room. These are the prices which I sent to my sister again.

Looking at the surroundings, one would think the inside would be attractive but no, it was the opposite. The staircases were so dirty and smelling. We could see some dirty plates being scattered around the entrance of some rooms. There, I concluded my sister would not take this place. Though the price was so low compared to the first one, the way the place is already changed our mind.

We were shown two different rooms; the Economy double and the Royal double. Both rooms aren't different from each other. Now, take a look at the rooms and toilets. The toilets aren't neat enough and we were told they just cleaned it. There was no AC but a standing fan. No, this already pissed me off.

When I showed them to my sister, she immediately chose the first one even though it's pricey but comfortability is the main thing here. We want a place where she can sleep and feel at home, not where rats would welcome her presence just like my own room 😃 I know she cannot stay in the room and I won't even advise her to, because the toilets are a general one where more than 20 people use daily. The whole place isn't good at all and the electricity isn't stable here. So, I want a better, convenient and comfortable place for her so she would be happy travelling down here for a smooth vacation.

We planned to spend two days at the hotel before travelling to the second state to see the waterfall she had been longing to see. When I inquired about the hotel there, I was told a hotel is also at the waterfall which makes it easier for us because I haven't been to the state before.

That was how I spent my day looking for the best hotel for my sister and when I got home, the stress was bad for me. I managed to prepare noodles and as I was eating, I was dozing off, to tell how weak I was. I slept for an hour before tuning in to the Hive Town Hall X space show hosted by Khal, Anomadsoul, Taskmaster, Crimsonclad, Arcange and others. They talked about how important governance on Hive is to every Hivian and how engagement should be made on the chain.

It was an interesting show even though I was feeling uneasy and my body temperature was getting hot. Perhaps malaria is coming but I don't want that. I already took paracetamol to relieve me while I sleep early tonight. This is why I wouldn't be able to engage much just to feel relaxed and observe my health.
