Finding Motivation: How Podcasts Keep Me Grounded and Inspired

There was a time I used to immerse myself into listening to podcasts on YouTube and that was before I got to know of the Spotify app. I didn't know I could get loads of it on the app which would make me visit YouTube mostly twice or thrice in a week as I would have downloaded some, and I would listen while my data was off.

The kind of podcasts I listened to were either spiritual ones or personal/self-development, motivational and true life stories of people because I needed something to keep me going, to be inspired and encouraged and also to always make me remember that I am not the only person going through a particular situation.

By the time I finish listening to a podcast, I feel hopeful about every situation in my life. In summary, podcasts help me keep my gaze high while believing that if others can do it, then I can, too.

When I downloaded the Spotify app, I used to be a lover of Joel Osteen's daily podcasts about life and spirituality, mostly highly spirited words that make me be assured of God's promises. I was always on my toes claiming God's promises for my life each day I listened to his sermons.

I made it a daily routine when I was still in school and for more than 2 months, I kept tuning in to Joel Osteen's page to hear the word of God and also to be reminded of the beautiful works and wonders of God daily.

Fast forward to this year, I would say there hasn't been much time for me to listen to any podcasts, but on days that I feel there wasn't much to do, I try to find inspiring ones to listen to. One such is this one, titled "Mummy Mayhem".

I don't know why I developed an interest in listening to this podcast every morning when going to work while I plug in my earpiece in my ears.

Mummy Mayhem is a woman being invited to share her motherhood journey and how she has been juggling both her life as a young woman and the other part of her life as a mother of 2. When she talks, I can sense motherhood journey isn't something that seems easy because at that point, if you aren't careful, it takes away your beauty and deprives you of opportunities to remain productive all in the name of "I have no time for myself. My kids are taking the time"

Seriously, the session is always an interesting one as the host and guest (Mummy Mayhem) would laugh at things, be serious at another point, giving tips on how to navigate the journey of being a mother and working the best out for yourself because every mother should understand that children shouldn't take the beauty and ever productive person they used to be when they were still single and haven't had any.

It always makes me wonder about some women, that when they are married and start giving birth, they lose their beautiful state and become old whereas they are still young, they just don't take time to bring themselves back to how they used to look attractive.

The podcast made me understand that having children shouldn't stop a woman from looking all sexy to her husband but be the same being their husband saw the first time they met.

There was another one I finished recently which was recommended by the balcony girl @abenad 😃 about financial wisdom from the Bible.

Oh my God! Only if one didn't practice those tips would the whole sermon not have a positive effect on their lives. The podcast is divided into 7 segments which lasted for a week. I also had to listen to each episode for seven days, making me feel like coming to an event to listen for 7 different days and I kept jotting down all important tips said there. I never missed a day.

This is to show that when I am attracted to an inspiring podcast, no matter how long it takes, I would finish it with my time dedicated to it. I love listening to or watching podcasts when I am free and not doing anything because I love taking my time and giving such things my undivided attention so that the whole time won't look meaningless to me but taking home some important tips and learning a lot from them.

Thanks for your time reading. Looking forward to your interaction.

You sure are a dedicated person. There are really long podcasts, so it's nice to see that you try to get the whole package no matter how long. And Mummy Mayhem sounds like something some ladies (and men) of today need to visit sometimes. I wonder if you have considered starting your own podcast.

I don't listen to podcasts and I think I don't have the patience to listen to them. Developing this habit won't be bad but I don't feel interested in going for it. you can say some words to make me inspired.

Now I'm kinda interested in that podcast haha😂, I really enjoyed this, of course motherhood should never stop a woman from getting successful in her business, looking beautiful for her spouse, so I don't like the excuse of saying I'm a mother so therefore you can't take care of yourself. Nahhh...that a nope for me.

Hahaha. Some women will turn old because they are married and have 2 kids? Nah. That's not nice. The husband will go out 🤣🤣
