Another period in my beloved country. What's the way out?

"Busayo, are we going to survive this at all? Look at the way things are so expensive and I pity the poor ones seriously." said my friend.

"Well, there's nothing we can do to stop this problem we are facing. As long as God doesn't stop providing and blessing us, we will survive. At least we still have something to feed on despite the inflation. Let's be grateful for the little we have to help ourselves because I know it is not easy and won't be easy for the ones who can barely feed even twice a day." I replied back.

My friend and I were busy discussing the issues in our country with how prices of goods keep skyrocketing and it isn't as if we would do anything. How do you expect our ideas should be sought unless we keep sitting in circles all days of our lives trying to solve the riddles that we still don't understand? No matter how many ideas we give out, the number of times we sit to have this same discussion over and over again, it won't make the government change their minds because they are in power and whatever they say or do, we follow and what we can do for ourselves is trying to find ways to survive on our own without relying on the government to help us.

Seriously, the only thing keeping us alive and jiggy is the funny skits we watch and entertain ourselves with, even the white people cannot stop wanting more from us, the Nigerians because no matter how tough the economy is, we find things to laugh at while forgetting our sorrows and maybe when there are no more jokes around, then we would go back to our abandoned problems but I don't think it would turn out to be that way leaving us to no other option. Let's just keep staying happy and subscribing to those funny skits and comedies. If you don't have subscriptions, you know what? Go for the free ones but you have to stay awake all through the night for that 😀

Sometimes I wonder if there is a demon eating up my data because how do I explain it when I just subscribe and boom, within a few days, it has finished. I almost smashed my phone to the wall last month when I did almost a $4 subscription and within 2 days, it was finished. I wanted to go offline till my head was settled and I remembered how much Hive would miss me. No, I won't be the one missing the blockchain but the other way around 😉

Just another skit I watched some days ago, the old man was going on his own. I guess the man wasn't even bothered about how the country was going but I loved the man's response when a young guy stopped the old man and asked, "Baba what can you say to the current situation in Nigeria? Are you not tired of it?" It was as if the man was already waiting for such a question because the way he replied quickly made me think as if he had stored the answer in his mind waiting for the right moment and here comes the day he has been waiting for. Baba said "I am not suffering. Are you suffering?" The guy was shocked but Baba was moving fast as if he had a meeting he needed to attend and was running late.

The man was right though. He isn't suffering and not complaining just like me. If a man like that said he isn't complaining and whatever the situation of his country, isn't his concern, how much more of the young guy who is supposed to find something to do instead of murmuring and blaming the government? The truth is, there is work out there but many of us are lazy. Is there no work online to do? There are a lot of skills to engage in while helping ourselves rather than sitting all day complaining and looking for what is not lost. Don't we have a platform like Hive helping a lot of us to survive?

Omo, you better grab the opportunity, work hard and save, then run away from this country if you must, but for me, I am still thinking if I should Japa or not. Japa means to run away to another country for a greener pasture. But someone told me he is loyal to his country and not going anywhere except for vacations. He is right though and he has the right to leave or stay.

As for me, let me just keep dusting my bag small small while I process my visa. The next thing you might see on my blog is "Princess is in Canada" Are you waiting for that day already? Keep waiting please but before then, let me complete my youth service because I must collect all the money the government has owed me since birth 😀

Thanks for your time on my blog.

I don't even bother reasoning about the situation of this country because it is not good for my sanity. It seems we keep going from fry pan to fire every year, the funny part is every new administration tends to be worst than the previous one.

I believe the man is right, it is our responsibility to seek opportunities for ourselves to prevent us from suffering, no one is coming to save anyone. The truth is can we really say there is no money in this country looking at how much our government spend on renovation of governmental properties and how much they dash out to government officials.

I don't think I'm really going to Japa because Nigeria might be going through a rough phase right now but people should also know that the country they are running to also have beggars and why is that so.

Inflation indeed striking badly but nobody is dying for it and I never heard anyone died for lack of food which is a little bit surprising also.
You are planning to run away in Canada 😅. Are you sure?

Hehehe. I have heard lots of news of a family who killed themselves because there was no food to eat. They have been starving for days I think and no one knew. So sad because things are happening in this life, we just haven't seen any around us.

Hehehe, my trip? I am still thinking about it. Lol

The situation of the country has been a treat to the common man and at the same time he turns them to comedy.
Ahhh your data finished because you want to keep yourself jiggy around.

These days I no longer bother much about data, as long as I do my monthly 6k subscription, I am good to go for a whole month 😁 the one I did last month will be expiring today and I still have over 5gb left, as usual it will rollover when I resubscribe.

Things are getting more expensive everyday and the worst thing is that we can't even do anything about it, we just adapt. I bought eggs for N100 last week, today I bought for N130. The only thing I could say when I heard the new price was; "na wa o, bring am sha". That's also what I will say when it hits N200 😅 I just pray I am no longer in this country when that happens

🤣🤣🤣 wetin we wan do if price keeps going up daily. Here, I heard egg for #110, I shouted but told them to bring it. Won't I eat egg again? Lol as long as there is money, no wahala. We won't die.

Oh boy, I never get strength for 6k sub now. Make I dey manage my 3500 own and that gives me 15Gb.

If you can japa, please do. Maybe I will join you there too.

However, the issue of inflation isn't only affecting Nigeria but also something that's plaguing the world at large. Even Canada Dey para but it's just that some areas are better than others. So going to other countries to seek greener pasture isn't about loyalty or something like that but an act of survival. Loyalty doesn't pay the bills - money does.

This picture looks familiar, I think that's akure garage junction (idk if I'm correct)

Thata 's good idea. Best to save up and keep hustling until we are capable financially to make the move.

No wonder it looks familiar. I also stay in Ondo. Do you reside around there or just passing by?
