My first job didn't go well

The first job is not always good but because we are new to it, we will definitely find it good to do and as time goes on, we will find out the flaws and decide whether to stay or not.

Some are lucky that their first job is a good one with good pay as well but to me I believe that it all depends on how we get the job, we live in a world where you can't get a job unless you know people up there so anything someone is lucky to get he or she has to do it wholeheartedly because it will be very hard to get another one.

My first job wasn't a pleasant one but because I needed to help my mom with some money at the end of the month I didn't have a choice but to cope with the work. When I finished secondary school, a friend of mine in the street helped me to get a receptionist job.

At first, I wasn't sure if I could cope with such a job because people that are there are more exposed than I am but because I am a girl I got employed, a immediately I submitted my CV.

The owner of the hotel called my number because he was curious about me, how can a small girl like me be thinking of working in a hotel knowing all the risks there?

I got to his office and he didn't believe I was the owner of the CV because I looked younger than the age in the CV I was interviewed and he gave me the receptionist job then told me that the receptionist department is the only decent place in the hotel so because I look younger and innocent he gave me the job.

I wasn't getting good pay but I was happy that I could go home with money at the end of the month. The job wasn't a good one because I was too young to experience all of what I went through in the hotel but instead of misusing the opportunity to do what all my mates and co-workers are doing, I learned from the experience.

Three months after working in the hotel my boss developed an interest in me which I still don't know why to date, he began to make some funny moves around me which I noticed but I acted as if I didn't know.

It got to a point where he invited all his friends they were about five and he asked me to serve them, and I was serving them drink he told them I am his second wife and he wanted me to grow a little bit before he married me.

I heard but laughed as if I didn't understand what he was saying, I couldn't take my mind off all that he was telling his friends about me and I was scared but I needed the salary so I didn't stop working. But one day I was on a night shift when I got there I a he had sent the other girls who were supposed to stay with me home.

At midnight he came to the reception and asked me to come into his room because he had a room in the hotel I refused, he told me that if I didn't sleep with him that night I should forget about my work but I didn't answer him. One of the people that lodge was coming to get table water in the reception and he heard him threatening me so the person intervened.

I quickly opened the reception door and ran after the guy with one plastic of table water in my hand. While attending to the guy, he told me to leave the work if not that my boss might rape me next time if there is no one to help me escape.

The next day the guy still waited for me to pack my things and make sure I left the hotel safely before he took his leave.

I never stepped my foot back into the hotel, I even left my salary for that month with him because if not for that guy only God knows what that man would have done to me that night. So my first job never went well and I learned that there are some work a girl shouldn't consider doing at a younger age.

Then I was a little girl who didn't know what was happening but now I am more mature so no I wouldn't go back to work in a hotel if I had the opportunity because I have learned that a hotel job is a decent job but the people are the ones making it a bad work for people but still I will never go back to it again.
