Hard work and luck work hand in hand
I am sure every one of us is familiar with the quote which says, "Hard work pays" It's a very short quote with a very deep and strong message. But then we live in a country where all the people that work hard get peanut salary while the people that do less work earn more. Yet, we can't stop working simply because working hard is never a waste of time.
The topic says, "Hard work or luck, which one has impact more?" The truth is hard work doesn't determine people's future anymore because the fact that you work hard now doesn't guarantee that you are going to make it.
However, it is necessary anyway, while luck is something that happens even without you knowing what is coming your way. There are lots of people that are just lucky to be where they are now not because they know how to do anything but because luck came through for them.
So to me, hard work has more impact t, but then it is luck that will boost the hard work if not the person will just work so hard for nothing if luck doesn't come in.
The time when my hard work paid off: I have shared some of my factory work experience in some of my articles, the time I worked so hard in the factory.
Then I was schooling, working, and also learning work(catering) at the same time just to live and have a good life. The part where my hard work paid off for me was when I finished my studies with the help of the money I was earning in the factory. My job was tedious but I didn't let that break my spirit and I just kept working tirelessly.
Where luck shine for me: was when I was learning hairdresser, my boss liked me naturally and she took her time to teach me all I needed to know meanwhile, I had lots of seniors who didn't know anything and they are still in the shop struggling to learn.
I count that as luck because my boss is the type that doesn't care, all she wants is money but then she pays more attention to me and I don't take the time for granted, I make sure to use the time for good, which is paying for me now.
When I told her I rented a shop, she was so happy and she came to pray for me in the shop which is very unusual of her, even her mother once advised me when I was learning that I should make sure I open my shop before I come back for my freedom, that's another luck because who does that? advising your daughter's apprentice not to come for freedom until she gets a shop, she is a good mother anyway.
Immediately I finished learning work I got a call from my mom that I should come home.
At first, I was reluctant to go home but when I got there my mom had bought a standing hairdryer for me. What kind of soap was I bathing? I asked myself, my mom never liked anything hair ever since I knew my mom she has never plaited her hair before and she always warned me and my siblings never to make hair in her house. And now she bought me a hairdryer.
All that happened so fast more than I expected it, I count that as luck, because there are lots of people struggling to have all that I got in a bit of time and some of my seniors haven't done half of all that I have done yet until now, I am hardworking and that is why the luck has something to boost so to me hard work first then luck will follow.
What I learned: Both luck and hard work come together because the way I got lucky from my boss, if I hadn't worked hard to learn what she was teaching me I wouldn't be where I am today, and in one word, luck only boosts hard work.
Sometimes, being lucky can just come from hardwork, just like you explained in your story. In a way, both of them are connected and I will say that the one that has more impact totally depends on the people involved. Some people are very lucky that they don't even need to work very hard to get what they want
You are right about that some are just too lucky while some had to work for it
I believe you ma, in a country where hard work is not appreciated as it should, luck looks like the only option out. Yet I would still prefer we don't fold our arms and wait for luck to locate us but rather keep working hard because we don't even know how the luck will come, it might even come through your hard work. Your case is the best example to portray luck and hard work coming together for our good.
Yeah we can't say because the country is somehow we shouldn't work but wait for luck that means such person will die of hunger
That's right, thanks for sharing this with us
