I have a short article to share with you today on the adverse effects of sugar. While sugar maybe one of sweetest things to you after slice bread, you may want to reconsider the amount you use daily if you want to stay healthy.
I see people around me who take 6 to 10cubes or more than 5 teaspoons of sugar for a simple cup of tea. This isn't healthy for any adult. Children on the other hand need sugar alot because they play and expend energy but even then, the amount should be controlled. Aside from from the raw sugar, beware of added sugars as well. They're often found in processed foods.
Here are some of the adverse effects of eating too much sugar;
- It increases the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and fatty liver diseases
- It increases the risk of infections as bacteria strives on sugar
- It promotes tooth decay and gum diseases.
- Skin aging
- Excess sugar consumption can cause the glucose level to spike. The result of this is mood swings, headache, fatigue etc.
- It increases blood pressure
- It promotes acne and can destroy the texture of the skin.
- It affects cognition especially in the children.
- Too much sugar can cause inflammation, oxidative stress, and obesity which influences the risk of developing cancer.

CONCLUSION
Sugar is only good if it is consumed in moderate amounts.
Take care of your health.
