What Does It Mean That Donald Trump Is a Fascist?
The people who watched Trump’s television ads… had not been harmed by a transgender person, or by an immigrant, or by a woman of color. The magic lies in the daring it takes to declare a weaker group to be part of an overwhelming conspiracy.

Donald Trump has said he wouldn’t be a dictator — ‘except for Day 1.’ According to his own statements, he’s got a lot to do on that first day in the White House.
His list includes starting up the mass deportation of migrants, rolling back Biden administration policies on education, reshaping the federal government by firing potentially thousands of federal employees he believes are secretly working against him, and pardoning people who were arrested for their role in the riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Transition Official Warns Justice Department Lawyers
A conservative lawyer working on Donald Trump’s transition, Mark Paoletta, offered a stark warning to career Justice Department lawyers Monday that those who refuse to advance Trump’s agenda should resign or face the possibility of being fired.
Career DOJ lawyers take an oath to uphold the Constitution, not an oath to the Leader.

The 10 Stages of Grief for Democrats
For Democrats, Elisabeth Kübler-Ross’s five stages of grief—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance—are typically preceded by five other stages: second-guessing, finger-pointing, blame-casting, shit-talking, and backstabbing.

The Sky-High Anxiety Rocking Ex-Trump Officials
Come January 20, 2025, Trump will once again control the full force of the executive branch to carry out this threat. While that thought has raised anxiety levels the nation over, it’s caused a pronounced spike among the many veterans of Trump’s first White House who publicly broke with him. In the days since Trump’s decisive victory over Kamala Harris, I’ve been speaking with some such officials who say they are terrified Trump will use the federal government to punish them for speaking out against him.
Said former national security adviser John Bolton: “Trump is vindictive. I do think he will seek retribution.”
Said another former official: “I have such terrible anxiety, I just want him to leave me alone.”
Said a third: “This man is capable of anything.”
These former officials are debating privately how far Trump would go to punish them for disloyalty. Bolton told me he thinks Trump’s former chief of staff John Kelly and retired Joint Chiefs chairman Mark Milley are the most at risk of being persecuted for going public about the dangers of a second Trump term.
