What I ordered vs What I got

Today's contest topic from the Hive Learners community is an interesting one. I've once in the past compared between online shopping and physical shopping and at first I was leaning towards online shopping but after some experience from shopping online, I ultimately concluded that even though online shopping is cool, it's still not close to physical shopping and I will tell you why.

If you're very active on Twitter, I'm sure you must have stumbled on the "What I ordered vs What I got" trend. If you haven't, well it's mostly about things people ordered online only to end up receiving a completely different package, sometimes these packages are so bad that the receiver can't even make use of them.

Like I said, I used to be a huge fan of online shopping because the idea of lying down on my bed and just ordering whatever it was I wanted on my phone was so appealing and stress-free for me that I decided I no longer had any business going out to the market to buy stuff anymore, if I wanted something, I'm pulling out my phone and making an order.

One time this particular type of neckless was sort of trending and I really liked the neckless, so I did what I was now getting used to doing, I pulled out my phone and went in search for it online. I had seen it and had immediately placed an order, when it eventually arrived, I didn't open it immediately but when I did, it wasn't what I had ordered. It was a neckless, no doubt about that but that wasn't the neckless. The one I had ordered was sort of like a short neckless but the one I received could actually be folded into two and still not be as short as the one I wanted. I ended up just dumping it at home and ever since then I haven't really done another online shopping because that neckless was expensive.

Now I know some of you will say that I should have returned it but then again, some of this services take a lot of time to complete a refund (especially the ones here) which is another point as to why I don't like online shopping anymore, the waiting time. You have to wait for everything. You have to wait to receive your order which will take days and sometimes months, depending on where your package is being transported from and then the same thing happens when you're asking for a refund.

Unlike going to the store physically where most times you don't have to return the product because before you made payment for it, you were pretty sure it was the exact thing you wanted before paying for it. You even get to try some of it on if for example you're going shopping for some clothes. So yeah, online shopping may be fun and stress free but this is when you get the exact thing you ordered, because just one tiny mistake and your order is a nightmare unlike physical shopping where you get to pick the exact item you want and not get scared of getting the wrong thing.

Yup, exactly why I prefer the physical shopping.

This is why I'm very picky about where I shop online and I don't dare buy fashion items and accessories from online because I have heard a lot of "what I ordered vs what I got" stories. I only buy tech gadgets online and so far, I have never had any issues with the things I have bought

I've gotten a couple of tech gadgets myself and so far they've been good too.

Once you experience what I ordered Vs What I Got, Nobody will teach you how to go physical in some cases, especially expensive stuff, usually do this to avoid stories that touch

Exactly bro.. It's best you go see what you want to buy for yourself before making payment.

Here in Nigeria they don't address the issue of I want a refund which means they know what they are doing by bringing what someone didn't ordered for

Just like me and jumia app I will never ordered anything from them again because they won't respond to you anymore once they noticed that what they sold is not good

Well I'm not surprised.. This is why most people open their packages on the spot to see if it's what they ordered but even if it wasn't and they give it back to the dispatch driver, it still will take forever to get your refund.
