The Nigerian Prince
I think without a doubt, we all can agree that this current generation of youths are the most criminally minded youths we’ve had in a long time. The way they go about committing crimes these days as if it’s nothing is shocking. My dad will always say that back in their days when they were kids, hardly would they hear that a young person died and that was because the world was not as bad as it is today and sadly I think I agree with him.
The most current crime right now over here will be the internet scam, popularly known as the Nigerian prince by foreigners. You know back in the day there used to be few fake Nigerian princes online trying to scam unsuspecting foreigners but today, it’s almost as if every Nigerian online is a fraudster and they have so much advanced from the whole Nigerian prince bullshit story. These guys find new ways to scam people everyday and if they explain some of these methods to you, you would be amazed about how creative these guys can be that you will be sure that if they had channeled this brilliance in the right direction, they would have made a good life out of it.
The truth is many youths engage in this fraudulent activities because of peer pressure, the urge to want to belong to the “happening gang” the gang that flaunt their money in clubs and bar and the likes.
Some of them have even taken it a step further and now do some human ritual just so that whoever they’re chatting with online will do as they say. And then I ask myself, if these rituals really work, why kill someone only to go back online to look for people to chat with or as they call it, clients. Why not just perform the ritual to get rich instantly rather than go through all that process.
One of the sad thing about the youths who engage in this is that most of them don’t even need the kind of money they’re looking for just yet. Their parents are already taking care of them and isn’t asking them to pay the bills or anything but just because their friends are doing it and buying big drinks in the clubs and getting all the girls because of the fine cars they just bought, they end up doing it too.
That is why I don’t care when I see someone my age driving a nice car while I enter a commercial bus because deep down I know I’m a hundred percent better than them. I choose not to steal from someone just to enrich myself and nothing is going to make me change my mind about that.
As for the way it can be stopped, I really don’t know. The police over here are corrupt too so even when they arrest some of these boys, they end up extorting money from them and then release them to go continue what they were doing so that they can catch them and extort from them again. It’s now like a side hustle for these cops so I really don’t know what the solution to this problem will be, we just have to hope that there will be a solution soon.
That’s the feeling man. I prefer waiting for my time because everything has its time. That Car, I know I would have it one day when it’s time and definitely when I am ready. No need to rush myself into something that would spoil my life
Exactly bro, no need for all this rush. These kids have no patience these days.

i wonder why most kids who have everything provided for them still go into these things..It would make you wonder and ponder about life and how people think..I guess peer pressure is the greatest pressure ever
Yup, it's all peer pressure. The thing is that they always want more. Their parents can provide money for their feeding but definitely won't provide money for clubbing so they look for that money illegally themselves.
