Praise Da Lord - IV

If ever there was any doubt in the past as to what my dad's plan was, now I know for a fact what it is.

Flashback

There was this Sunday afternoon where I had called my home to ask them how they were fairing. I had had a little chitchat with the family before mistakenly asking them if they went to church that Sunday. It was a really dumb question because I know they never miss a Sunday service but I had asked the question and my dad had responded to it. He had told me that they went and that it hadn't been quite long they returned, then he asked me if I went to church.

There was no way I was going to lie because why should I? So I told him the truth, told him I had skipped that Sunday service for some reason. He wasn't happy about it and had scolded me a bit and that was it or at least that was what I thought.

End of Flashback

I had received a phone call from my dad today around 11am which was kind of strange because I felt he was in the other room, and all he had to do was call out my name and I would have heard. Well it turned out he wasn't, he had gone out that morning and wanted me to go to church to go help out in some new construction going on there. Apparently there were some couple of other guys there and he wanted me to be part of them.

It was kinda strange but wasn't exactly a big deal to me, so I got dressed and left for church. Now according to the phone call, he had made it sounded like it was going to be like an hour of work and then I'm on my way back home, nope it wasn't.

When we got done with the work, I called him and told him that I was done and was about going home which he immediately opposed. Apparently our church is currently hosting a seven day new year prayer which a lot of other churches are currently hosting and he wants me to stay behind to attend it. I was a little bit speechless when he told me this because that wasn't the plan.

The old man had played a fast one on me and there was nothing I could do about it. So now I'm seated under a tree, waiting for the service to commence and then come to a close so that I can go back home. This man might think he's winning but he shouldn't be surprised if the next time I come back home, it will be with my wife and three kids because it's going to be a long long time.
