Positive Thinking

You know how sometimes we tend to make certain things look like they happened for a greater reason, when in reality it was nothing special, well I'm about to do one of those right now.

About a week ago, I had gone to the bathroom with my phone and a single earbud in one ear and after I was done having my bath, I had walked out of the bathroom, put on my clothes and was about to walk out of my room when I realized that I had just my phone with me and not my earbud.

That day, I had searched everywhere I felt the earbud could be, from the bathroom to my room, but couldn't find it and after about thirty minutes of unsuccessfully looking for it, I gave up. I had succumbed to the fact that it had gone missing, even though I knew for a fact that it was somewhere in that room. The only problem with that was that it was a single tiny earbud and locating something as little as that was going to take a while.

So I gave up and just went about my day, that was about a week ago. Ever since then, I had refused to make use of the second earbud or even charge the casing because looking at it kinda reminded me of the one that got missing but yesterday, for some reason I had decided to just go ahead and charge it, and I remember that when plugging it, I had said to myself that I was charging the earbud casing just incase I found the missing earbud.

When I said that to myself, I had no intention of going to look for it again because like I said, I had no idea where it was and it was too tiny for me to look for it. But fast forward to today, I was at the bathroom getting ready to go out when I suddenly remembered the earbud and decided to randomly look at my bathroom window.

I said 'randomly' because I rarely keep anything there, only to find it just sitting there, on the railing of the window. It has been there for over whole week and everyday I had made use of that bathroom, oblivious to the fact that something that was important to me was there.

Words couldn't describe how excited I was when I found it and as expected, the batteries were dead at this point but that wasn't a problem because I had charged the casing the previous day.

Thinking about it all, I couldn't help but feel like the reason why I found that missing earbud was because I had enough faith to go ahead and charge the casing even when it was missing. I was being positive even when all of the odds were against me.

😂.
This has happened to me before.
Your mind is so occupied that you did something the proper way but also forgot that you did it the proper way.
Makes me wonder if I'm getting old quickly.

Yoruba people will probably say that it's because you dropped it with your left hands.

Lol.

This!!! It happens a lot to me too and it can be very annoying because I probably need that thing at that exact moment.

I can relate to it as I also faced a similar situation. And indeed the excitement after getting a thing back gives a special feeling.

A different kind of joy.. And this is because you probably thought it was lost for good and you wouldn't find it again.

I think everyone has been this situation before and it is actually a different feeling when you later come across that thing. After you must have forgotten about it completely.

Exactly.. It could brighten your day.. It all depends on how important that thing is to you.
