Learn To Take Things Slowly

The other day, I was in one of my moods where I feel like the world could literally end at any minute, so I had gone on my WhatsApp status and wrote "We always say life is short but most of us don't really understand how short that stuff really is"

That may not have been what I wrote word for word, but it was something around that. And I know that it seems like I've made it my life purpose to remind you guys about how short life is, blah blah blah and I know how tiring it must be to hear another lecture on that, well today, I will be talking about taking things a little bit slowly.

You see, I've always been that guy who for some reason likes to work based on deadlines. At first I didn't know why I was like that, but I soon got to realise that there's this adrenaline that I feel whenever I have unfinished tasks that is about to get to its deadline.

All of a sudden I get powered up, almost like I took too many energy drinks, and I just find myself doing in a day, something I was given a week to work on. If I'm being honest with y'all, that isn't a good way for one to live their life because you're constantly putting yourself at risk of losing your job, that school project or whatever it is you were asked to work on.

Also, it constantly have me living life in a hurry. Due to the fact that the deadline is close, I find myself hurrying up to do this and that and just fail to do things a bit slowly and hopefully enjoy it. Because that is one thing I've come to find out happens when you're not always in a rush.

A good example was when I still was a student. Whenever I was late for class, I would find myself rushing to take my bath, put on my clothes and run to school, probably forgetting some important materials at home all because I'm in a hurry...and then when I get to class, I'm all sweaty and irritated and all I wanna do is go home.

But on days where I do wake up on time, I find myself doing everything with ease. I find myself enjoying my walk to class, almost like I'm taking a stroll with little or no sweats at all on me. I listen to some songs, say hello to friends on the way, smile and basically my mind is at peace because I know I have time and there's no need to hurry.

At the end of the day, what I'm saying is that we all should learn to enjoy every second that passes by because once it's gone, we can never get it back.

I think you are talking about disciplined work and you are not saying to do work slowly. Right? Doing work faster is not bad for me as I always finish my tasks early and enjoy the remaining time before the deadline arrives.
