It's My Birthday

It's that time of the year again where both friends and family call to wish me a happy birthday. Although unlike previous birthdays, I haven't really received any calls today (other than my dad who called). Most of my friends decided to text me on WhatsApp instead and this was probably because I hardly make calls these days and I didn't really announce that it was my birthday today. All I did was post +1 on my WhatsApp status and that was it.

I had done this on purpose to see if any one of them would remember on their own and if they didn't, it was fine because everyone has a lot on their plate at the moment and just because they don't remember your birthday, doesn't mean that they don't love you (not that it matters).

Anyways, I got a lot of text messages from friends and families and also a lot of gifts which I fully appreciate. Unlike last year (and probably all of my life) my birthday has usually been on some sort of low key. And that was as a result of my upbringing,we don't celebrate birthdays at home but this year I had decided to make it a bit different.

I had gathered a few of my friends together and decided to celebrate and share beautiful memories together. And that is why even as I write this now, I'm currently in the midst of my friends, everyone celebrating and being in a good mood. Most of us are just playing fifa because boys will be boys lol.

Anyways, I just want to thank everyone of you for your well wishes. This birthday is certainly going to be one I will remember for a very very long time as this is the first time I'm really bringing myself out there and celebrating it. So thank you for all your well wishes and God bless you all.
