The country's election is right around the corner, in some few months time, it will commence and it is currently what everyone is talking about. A huge part of the country's population wants one particular man (Peter Obi) to win because he's not only the youngest among the three contestants, he also happens to be a man who has proven to know what he's doing.

But even though this man seems to be the people's favorite, a lot of people feels he wouldn't win the election and this isn't because he wouldn't get enough vote to win, but the level of corruption in the country is something else, on a whole different level and one of the top three contestants happens to be someone who the people knows to be very corrupt but can't do anything to him because he's untouchable, and now majority of the people feel he will come out victorious even if they don't give him their votes.

I was sitting at the front seat of a commercial vehicle the other day when this other passenger decided it was a good idea to discuss politics. He started to talk about the upcoming election and at first he only got one person to respond to him, but then the driver made a mistake of making a comment that the politicians already know who will be winning this upcoming elections and that whether we vote or not, it wouldn't matter.

That was more than enough to cause a little bit of commotion in the bus. People immediately got angry and asked why an elderly man like him would make such a statement. One young guy said it was because of people like him with this crazy kind of mindset, that is why people don't vote and end up getting ruled by greedy and selfish politicians. You could tell he was pissed off and I understood the reasons for his anger because even I too was upset, I just chose not to say anything. I always prefer to listen rather than contribute in matters like this.

The sad thing about this is that the driver isn't the only one with such mentality, a lot of people out there also think the same way too. But let me ask y'all a question, if we all give up and agree that our votes doesn't count so we don't vote, do we think the country will get better or worse?

The answer to that question should make you go get your Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and go vote for a better Nigeria.

Those old men did not believe in a free and fair election, and it's not their fault but they have witnessed a lot of bad elections. They have lost interest in a free and fair election in the country.

I believe this election will be different and the people's choice will emerge based on their election results.

Actually, it is their fault because they are the one doing everything. I do hope the people's choice emerges as the winner for this year's election.
