Stage 3 is done and it unlocked a new game mode | HoloCure (with English Commentary)

HoloCure is a free Roguelite Shoot them-up game inspired by the likes of Vampire Survivor and Magic Survival and I am having a blast playing it. This has quickly become one of my favourite games in this genre. Why? Because of the amount of fun I am having. The game doesn't take itself seriously, it is based on VTubber (which I have no clue of) and there are popular memes you can see throughout the game. Even though I understand half of the references it is still quite fun.

Today, I will share another gameplay video with you. I have been recording and sharing some runs for HoloCure for a couple of weeks now. I was able to clear stage 3 at last. This was the toughest stage yet but just because of my lack of upgrades I was trying to rush it without doing a lot of upgrades and focusing on other aspects of the game.

Upgraded a lot of Stats and Enchantments

I had upgraded a lot of levels of enchantments now. I was going for the one called 'Growth' which cost 50,000 HoloCoin (not a small amount to collect) but it was worth every penny. This increased the damage of the main weapon by 1% per level and since you can easily go beyond level 50 in a run, you will get that much increase of damage from your main weapon and it increases the skills too by the same amount.

Now the only enchantments left are the 'Reroll' (reroll the list of upgrades in the run) and 'Eliminate' (eliminate one item to appear in the run). These are surely great but not my priority right now. For now, my priority will be to increase the weapon damage, movement speeds, attack rate and pickup range. All of these are helpful during my runs. But now they are starting to become quite expensive and takes multiple runs just to upgrade one of them by one level.

But it won't stop me from completing the game 100%. I want to do that as quickly as my schedule allows me.

Time for my gameplay video. I am trying to increase the video and audio quality with every new video. Hope you like it. English is not my first language so I mess up some things from time to time. But overall I am getting better at it. Here is the complete run of the Stage 3. Enjoy!

I went with Hakos Baelz again. She uses the Dice as her weapon and the number on the dice determines the damage she will deal. It is an interesting concept. But the main reason I went with her is because of her special attack. You see, last time when I was attempting to clear this stage, the final boss killed me. So, I want something which can defeat bosses easily.

Her special called, 'Absolute Chaos' launched all the weapons for 5 seconds with no delay. This makes it easy to kill any boss within five seconds. It also comes in handy during tough situations and this can save us easily from dying if you have some items linked to healing when dealing damage.

I was quite lucky with the drops this time. Got two packages during this run with three items. Usually, you get just one item per package but I got three items per package twice. If you watch the video you will see that I was focused on getting Potatoes (X-Potato) and once I got them they made it quite easy. You can combine them with many weapons, I combined mine with the HoloBomb to create those sticky bombs.

This makes a huge explosion. I got the Buble shield as well which was quite helpful in slowing down the enemy and saving me from sudden bursts of enemies. Also, because of the upgrades I made to my enchantments, this stage felt a lot easier than the last time.

I had no trouble with the later part of the stage as well. A stage is a 20-minute run with bosses coming throughout the stage at multiple intervals and a final boss at the 20-minute mark. The bosses were very easy to deal with because of the special attack. Last time I had trouble around the 18-minute mark where some enemies start to launch bullets at you and you have to dodge these bullets and enemies at the same time. This time, I was killing those enemies quickly and they were not getting enough time to launch their attacks. Even the final boss was easy for me.

I got two more achievements after clearing this Stage. This also unlocked a new item called En's Curse along with a brand new Stage 4. But that's not all, clearing this stage also unlocked a new game mode, the Time Stage.

These are stages where you have to do a specific task in a timed manner. You are competing to clear these objectives as quickly as possible and make an entry on the global leaderboards. Maybe clearing them will unlock another game mode or more items. I have to find out soon.
