Cloud Hunting in theHunter: Call of the Wild

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

My eyes lit up with excitement when I read the latest weekly contest topic of the Gaming Photography community. Contest link- Cloud Landscapes!

I love taking pictures of clouds and landscapes both inside and outside games. I will share some nice shots from theHunter: Call of the Wild this time. It has one of the best-looking clouds I have seen in a video game.

There are a lot of different maps/reserves in the game, each depicting a specific biome from some part of the world. Some have better views than others. E.g. the plains of Savannah are arid and offer less dense clouds but on the other hand, mountainous parts of the Silver Ridge Peaks map are full of clouds.

I have a lot of clouds to show you so let's start.

The above shot is from a beautiful reserve, Yukon Valley. There are a lot of snow-capped mountains which makes a border for this reserve. Only once did I take this challenging expedition to go and see the mountain from the top and the views are amazing. I was as high as the clouds!

I have another one from the same reserve.

I was on those high mountains that you can see in the backdrop. These Crimson Plains are beautiful, that red grass makes it so magical. I want to go and see those with my own eyes someday.

Let's go to another location.

This is Emerald Coast, Australia. Sky here is mostly clean but there are occasional showers and thunderstorms. This map is quite fun to hunt with a lot of unique species and a healthy population of each of them. There are very few moments of silence here.

But me and Sheru love to roam in these plains and hunt a variety of animals including Kangaroos, deer and even Crocodiles.

One reserve beats all when you talk about natural beauty and clouds. Let's go to Silver Ridge Peaks and see its beautiful places.

Well, there are 'peaks' in the name itself so expect a lot of them in this reserve. Some of these peaks are always covered by thick blankets of clouds and when the sunlight falls on them they glow and make this place beautiful.

Sunsets and Sunrises here are gorgeous.

Clouds, mist and fog all mix and make you forget about hunting. I sometimes go there just to see the cloud formation and drive around in my ATV.

Driving this ATV on these slopes is fun. Going at uncontrollable speeds will always be my go-to activity on this map. You are very high up and into the clouds when you go to the northern part.

The weather system in this reserve is very dynamic and these clouds form easily and can go away as fast as they came in. Nevertheless, they are very dramatic and I love it.

I have a lot of pictures from this reserve where clouds make a big part of my composition and I make sure I use them for my landscape shots.

On the contrary, there are some maps with very little to no clouds and rain. One of them is a Mexican desert.

Savannah Reserve is dry as well but not as dry as this desert. There are occasional rains and a lot of times some cloud formation happens but it doesn't take the shape of a thunderstorm. However, I have caught some in the past but didn't capture any good pictures. So I will show you one of my favourite spots in this reserve. I have shared some shots from this place before but my focus is on clouds this time.

Until next hunt...

This video game hits the mark when it comes to clouds! I think I belong more to the cold-loving team, as those snow-capped mountains wrapped in clouds looks like a cool place to me.
